Hit the beach
Fuerteventura is home to some of Europe’s most impressive stretches of sun-kissed sand and crystalline waters, so you are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a beach. If you're hoping for warm water, try out the beaches of Jandia; with 10 km of white sand and turquoise water located on the south end of the Island, it's the perfect spot to indulge in a spot of swimming. Another popular beach is the 12km long Playa del Cofete. There are many options for water sports throughout the island from parasailing and wind-surfing to jet skiing. Just head to a vendor on the beach to start your fun-filled day!
Explore the volcanic landscape
The island of Fuerteventura is basically one massive volcano, so it's the perfect opportunity to hike through its natural beauty. Montana de Tindaya is the oldest mountain within the whole of the Canary Islands and is a sacred mountain to the indigenous people of the island. Unfortunately, you can't climb up, but it's a perfect picture opportunity. If you want to walk through lava craters and experience the true nature of a volcano then head to Corralejo and take a walk from here to Lajaries. It's a four-hour trek, so stay hydrated and wear sunscreen, but the views you will be greeted with are mind-blowing and worth the heat.
Visit the Ajuy Caves
These caves are located in the small coastal village of Ajuy, situated on the western coast of Fuerteventura. From the centre of the village, you take a quaint coastal path which leads to the north side of the village and here you will be greeted with mind-blowing caves that legends said were once the secret hideouts of pirates. It's a perfect day-trip for those interested in adventure and experiencing something a little different.
If you want to experience stunning beaches, fantastic water-sports, glorious Spanish food and unique hideaways, there's no better place to start your holidays to Fuerteventura than with us.
