Experience Irish traditions

Dublin is full of fantastic traditional Irish pubs, but the most famous of them all is Temple Bar. Always packed with budding locals and tourists sipping on a pint of Guinness whilst listening to live music, it's the perfect atmosphere to soak up an evening in Dublin. The local district thrives during the day with artistic vision, featuring numerous performance art venues and independent galleries. Then at night, the district comes to life with dozens of restaurants for those looking to share a pint and click their heels to traditional Irish music.

Visit the historic Kilmainham Gaol

A visit to this jail gives visitors one of the unique insights into the darker side of Irish history. It's famous for its harsh conditions and treatment of the all-male prisoners during the Irish troubles. It's now a preserved museum that's extremely popular, which means you may need to book a guided tour in advance. This is one of the highest rated attractions in Dublin and whilst you are visiting you should also check out the museum exhibit which details the history of the prison and its preservation. The jail is also located next to Phoenix Park, the perfect spot to arrange a picnic and relax on the green. Or take a visit to Dublin Zoo, the ideal place to wander and see some fascinating and unique animals.

Get boozy

The Irish are famous for their drinks and you can't miss up an opportunity to visit the Old Jameson Distillery and the Guinness Storehouse. Take self-guided tours and learn the history and process of making the famous whiskey and stout. You'll get the chance to taste free samples of whiskey and the opportunity to pour your own pint at the end of your Guinness tour. After a day of drink tasting, head on to Dublin Castle located in the heart of the city. This castle paid a part in Ireland's history since the Vikings used the land to build fortresses. After your day of sightseeing, then why not stop for an Irish coffee at one of the many quaint cafes dotted around the city.

Whether your trip to Dublin sees you dancing an Irish jig, enjoying a pint of 'the black stuff', or wandering around beautiful Phoenix Park, you know you'll have a memorable trip in Ireland's capital city.
