Your Itinerary In Detail

Day 1: Arrival in Madrid

Arrive at Madrid airport, and meet with a car rental representative. They will help you pick up the rental car, before driving to your hotel. The Spanish capital is one of Europe’s liveliest and most elegant cities, boasting beautiful boulevards, vast parks, bustling plazas, as well as numerous historic churches and palaces. Madrid is also home to the legendary ‘golden triangle’ of art galleries, which houses some of the world’s most treasured masterpieces.

Day 2 : MADRID – ARANJUEZ – TOLEDO (100 Km – 1.5 hrs)

Leave for Aranjuez after breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Royal Palace, and marvel at the mesmerising palace gardens that inspired Joaquin Rodrigo’s famous ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ classical Spanish guitar piece. Continue to Toledo and check in to your hotel on arrival.

  • Overnight in Toledo.

Day 3 : TOLEDO

After breakfast at the hotel, explore historic Toledo. Discover this ancient hillside city, home to Arab, Jewish and Christian monuments from medieval Castile. Wander through ancient streets dominated by the stunning cathedral and the legendary Alcazar fortress overlooking the River Tagus. The old town boasts buildings from almost all periods of Spanish history. Visit Santo Tome Church, where El Greco’s epic canvas ‘The Burial of the Count of Orgaz’ is displayed, and the former synagogue, offering one of the best-preserved examples of Mudejar architecture in Castile.

  • Overnight in Toledo.

Day 4: Toledo, Avila & Segovia

Depart after breakfast at the hotel, heading to Avila, whose old town is still surrounded by uninterrupted medieval walls. The perimeter is more than 2.5 km long, and dotted with 88 towers and nine gates. Behind the ramparts is a city of immense beauty and heritage. Visit the fortified Gothic cathedral and the Romanesque Basilica of St Vincent. Stroll through its ancient streets, with Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles, and take in the splendour of the Plaza de Santa Teresa.

Continue to sensational Segovia with its Alcazar, which was one of the inspirations for Disney’s Cinderella castle. Admire the awe-inspiring Roman aqueduct, which dates from the reign of Emperor Domitian in the first century and cuts through the city centre.

  • Overnight in Segovia.

Day 5 : SEGOVIA – SAN LORENZO DE EL ESCORIAL – MADRID (110 Km – 1.5 hrs)

Head to San Lorenzo de El Escorial after a tasty breakfast at the hotel. This pretty and prosperous town is the location of one of Spain’s most important Renaissance monuments, the magnificent monastery of El Escorial, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The complex also served as the royal palace of Philip II. Other attractions of El Escorial include the Hall of Battles, where large frescoes depict important Spanish military triumphs, the lavish library with frescoed ceilings, and the breathtakingly beautiful basilica. Continue to Madrid and check in at the hotel.

  • Overnight in Madrid.

Day 6 : DEPARTURE FROM MADRID

Bid farewell to Madrid after breakfast at the hotel, driving towards the airport. Drop off the car at the rental office. The shuttle service will transfer you to the terminal for you to catch your departure flight back home.

  • Breakfast included.

Your Destinations

Madrid

The historic capital of Spain oozes with culture, cuisine, and a decidedly cosmopolitan atmosphere. The Gran Vía is the place to experience the city’s modern vibes - this thoroughfare connects the two halves of the city and offers exciting shops, lively nightlife, cinemas and theatres.

After soaking up the city’s bustling streets, escape to the Museo del Prado, where you can admire the works of famous Spanish artists including Goya, El Greco, da Ribera, and Velázquez. Along with the nearby Reina Sofia Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, this forms Madrid’s Golden Triangle of Art. In between art visits, see the Real Jardín Botánico, an 8-hectare botanical garden founded by King Ferdinand VI.

A trip to Madrid wouldn’t be complete without tasting some of the city’s fantastic food, and the vibrant thoroughfare of Calle Cava Baja is the perfect place to try Madrid’s best tapas. Alternatively, experience Mercado de San Miguel, a beautiful market filled with food stalls and wine bars that comes alive after work hours.

Toledo

Escape the hustle and bustle and make your way to bright and beautiful Toledo. Travel through time contemplating the Alcázar, the Cathedral, the El Greco Museum, the Sephardic Museum, the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Bab-al-Mardum, or the Mirador del Valle, among many innumerable beauties. Known as the Imperial City, Toledo has been the Gastronomic Capital of 2016. Don't miss a chance to try its most traditional dishes.

Toledo is a World Heritage City by UNESCO. This walled city is where Cervantes justifies the creation of his work. And, as related in his novel, was in the old neighborhood of the Alcaná Toledo, where Cervantes narrated the adventures of Don Quixote.

Segovia

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the terracotta walled city of Segovia sits in the rolling hills of Castilla, near the northern slopes of the Sistema Central mountain range.

The city is known for its impressive Roman aqueduct, measuring over 894m, and gorgeous Gothic cathedral located on Plaza Mayor. Sip on a coffee from a café in the shady plaza, before strolling on to see the pretty Plaza de San Martín, and the unusual twelve-sided church, Iglesia de Vera Cruz.

The most iconic sight in Segovia is undoubtedly the fairytale castle that is said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Crowned by turreted towers, and surrounded by a deep moat, get ready to imagine your own ‘happily ever after’!
