Murcia Region —
Murcia is a major and historical city situated by the southeast coast of Spain, near Torrejeva and the ancient Roman port town of Cartagena. Looking south across the Alboran Sea to North Africa, and east across the Balearic Sea to the island of Palma, the area enjoys a wonderful climate with golden sunshine and gentle sea breezes.
In the rest of the Murcia region, you can spend your mornings sailing around the volcanic islands in the gentle waters of the Mar Menor. With a little extra time, you can even sail on two seas in one outing, heading out into the Mediterranean to admire the rocky coastline of Murcia. Afterwards, head to the harbour in Cabo de Palos, try a traditional Murcian lunch of Arroz Caldero (fish stew with rice) and watch the fishing fleets come and go.
