At the buffet restaurant, dining becomes a varied experience of Mediterranean and international cuisine, where dishes are presented with colour, texture and attention to detail. The scent of fresh herbs, roasted meats and pastries fills the room, while guests move through an abundant selection of salads, mains and desserts. Themed dinners each week introduce new flavours, adding a sense of exploration to every evening. By day, the Terrace Snack Bar beside the pool sets a relaxed tone, with chilled drinks, cocktails and light bites served under the Mediterranean sun. Majorca —
Majorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, balances cosmopolitan energy with Mediterranean tranquillity. From the golden coves of the east to the rugged peaks of the Tramuntana mountains, it’s an island of contrasts - where olive groves meet turquoise waters, and traditional villages share space with vibrant coastal towns.
Must-sees:
- Palma de Majorca: The island’s stylish capital, crowned by the Gothic La Seu Cathedral and buzzing with art galleries, cafés and harbourfront promenades.
- Serra de Tramuntana: A UNESCO World Heritage mountain range, ideal for scenic drives, hiking and charming villages such as Valldemossa and Deià.
- Alcúdia Old Town: Enclosed by medieval walls, its cobbled streets and nearby Playa d’Alcúdia offer the perfect mix of heritage and beachside calm.
- Cala Figuera and Caló des Moro: Hidden coves with crystalline waters, ideal for swimming and photography.
Culinary culture:
Majorca’s gastronomy captures the island’s soul. Sample sobrasada, a soft cured sausage flavoured with paprika, or ensaimada, the island’s signature spiral pastry. Fresh seafood and olive oil feature prominently, while inland, rustic taverns serve hearty tumbet, a Majorcan version of ratatouille. Pair your meal with a glass of local Binissalem wine and end with almond ice cream made from the island’s own orchards.
Dive deeper:
Discover Majorca beyond the beach. Cycle through the Tramuntana mountains, explore olive mills and vineyards, or visit the artist’s house of Robert Graves in Deià. The Caves of Drach reveal underground lakes and natural concerts, while the markets of Sineu and Santa Maria del Camí bring local life to the fore. As the day fades, head to Cap de Formentor to watch the sun sink into the Mediterranean — a sight that defines the island’s magic.
Good to know:
Majorca is about 2.5 hours by flight from most major European cities, with Palma de Majorca Airport just 10 km from the capital. The best time to visit is from April to October, when the sea is warm and the island at its most vibrant. The local currency is the euro (EUR).
