Discover Majorca —
Set off on an unforgettable discovery of Majorca through a few days of complete freedom with your included rental car.
Suggested itinerary (based on a 5-night stay):
Day 1: Arrival in Majorca and first escape
Pick up your included rental car at the airport: the adventure begins as soon as you step out of the terminal! Drive to your adults-only Viva Cala Mesquida Suites resort, nestled in the wild north-east of the island, just steps from one of Majorca’s most beautiful coves. Check in to your accommodation and take in your first breath of the Mediterranean facing Cala Mesquida beach, framed by sand dunes and golden limestone cliffs. A swim in its deep blue waters is a must before sitting down for your half-board dinner, lulled by the sound of the sea.
Day 2: Palma, baroque capital and Gothic jewel (Cathedral ticket included)
Head west for a scenic one-hour drive to Palma de Majorca. Start with the unmissable Cathedral La Seu — your entrance ticket is included — a true 13th-century Gothic masterpiece rising 45 metres above the sea. Be captivated by the light filtering through its 83 stained-glass windows and 7 rose windows, including the famous double rose window phenomenon. Right next door, the Almudaina Palace, a former royal residence blending Arabic and medieval influences, is also worth a visit. Then stroll through the historic quarter with its cobbled streets, shaded terraces, and golden sandstone palaces. Enjoy lunch on a terrace overlooking the bay before heading back to your resort, light-hearted, to watch the sunset from your suite.
Day 3: The Serra de Tramuntana, UNESCO World Heritage site (Roadbook included)
Spend the whole day in the wildest and most majestic mountain range of the Balearics. With the included detailed roadbook, explore the Serra de Tramuntana at your own pace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. First stop in Valldemossa, a village suspended at 400 metres above sea level, where cobbled streets wind between orange trees, centuries-old olive groves, and golden stone houses. Visit the famous Carthusian Monastery, a historic place filled with romance and heritage. Continue to Banyalbufar and its stepped agricultural terraces — the Majardes — carved into the mountainside over centuries, and taste a glass of Malvasia, the local wine made from a rare grape variety. End in Sóller, the beautiful orange-growing town, where a century-old wooden tram still connects the town centre to its idyllic port. A timeless day between preserved nature, authentic villages, and breathtaking landscapes.
Day 4: Cap de Formentor and the medieval town of Alcúdia
Early morning departure towards Cap de Formentor, just 30 minutes from your resort. Arrive early to avoid summer access restrictions and follow the winding road between cliffs and turquoise sea up to the iconic Formentor Lighthouse, perched 180 metres above the waves: here, the feeling of being at the edge of the world is absolute. Stop at Mirador es Colomer, a dramatic viewpoint offering sweeping views over cliffs plunging into the Mediterranean. Then head down to Formentor Beach, one of the island’s most beautiful, for a swim in crystal-clear waters framed by fragrant pine forest. In the late afternoon, reach Alcúdia, the former medieval capital, for a final encounter with history: walk along its Roman walls, get lost in its narrow streets, and enjoy a drink on a terrace before returning to Cala Mesquida.
Day 5: Drach Caves, Caló des Moro and fishing villages
Head south for a day full of contrasts. Begin with the mythical Drach Caves, less than 30 minutes from your resort: 25 metres underground, a magical mineral world is revealed with ancient stalactites and the turquoise waters of Lake Martel, one of the largest underground lakes in Europe. A short classical music concert by boat inside the cave makes this visit truly unique. Continue to the stunning Caló des Moro, a wild cove nestled at the foot of cliffs, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean: a steep descent on foot leads to an untouched turquoise setting with no facilities — the unspoilt Majorca. End the day in the fishing village of Cala Figuera, frozen in time, where traditional llaüts boats rest between white boathouses and ochre cliffs. A final half-board dinner overlooking the sea brings this Majorcan journey to a beautiful close.
Day 6: Final moments in Cala Mesquida and departure
Wake gently in your adults-only resort. Enjoy a final morning of relaxation by the pool or on Cala Mesquida beach before setting off. Free time for last souvenirs: Serra olive oil, local wines, artisanal ceramics or sobrassada, Majorca’s iconic cured sausage. Return the vehicle at the airport, your heart filled with wild landscapes, turquoise waters, and sunlit Mediterranean stone villages.
The included rental car offers total freedom to explore the island at your own pace. The Palma Cathedral ticket and the Tramuntana roadbook are included in your package and available upon arrival.
The proposed itinerary is based on a 5-night circuit. If you choose a different duration, you can adapt it according to your preferences.
The activities mentioned (Drach Caves, Sóller train, catamaran, etc.) are suggestions and are not included.
