Day 1: Welcome to Ibiza

On arrival at Ibiza Airport, collect your hire car and head towards the south-west of the island. In barely twenty minutes, pine forests give way to a breathtaking view over the bay of Cala Tarida: you have arrived. The Insotel Tarida Beach Resort & Spa appears like a self-contained holiday village, set directly on one of the island’s most beautiful coves.

 

After check-in, let the children discover the hotel’s water park with its slides and playful pools while the adults unwind by the sea. Late afternoon, head down to Cala Tarida beach, a shallow, luminous stretch of water in translucent blue, perfect for a first family swim. Soft golden sand, sea warmed to around 25°C, small colourful kayaks for hire, the scene is set. In the evening, enjoy the hotel’s restaurants for a relaxed, effortless dinner. Overnight at Insotel Tarida Beach.

 

Day 2: Sailing, sun and snorkelling. Catamaran day (SunCat Ibiza–Formentera included)

This morning, it is time for adventure at sea. Step aboard the SunCat catamaran for a 5-hour crossing towards Formentera, Ibiza’s sister island. As soon as the boat leaves the harbour, the deep blue of the Mediterranean stretches endlessly ahead while children gather at the bow nets, eyes wide with excitement.

After an hour of sailing, the catamaran anchors in a crystal-clear cove. Time for snorkelling. Equipped with masks and snorkels, the whole family enters a natural aquarium where pilot fish, sea hares and colourful anemones drift through the water. A BBQ lunch follows on board with grilled dishes, fresh salads and seasonal fruit, served with drinks under the Balearic sun, a floating picnic at sea.

 

On the return, you may glimpse the emerald waters of Ses Illetes, considered among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, before heading back to the hotel for a restful afternoon.

Day 3: Wild coves and an aquarium in a cave

Use your car to explore the west coast just minutes from the hotel. First stop is Cala Comte, one of Ibiza’s most spectacular beaches. With its white limestone islets, crystal-clear seabed and natural snorkelling areas, it is a place that leaves families speechless. Arrive early to secure a shaded spot beneath the pines.

 

After a morning swim, continue to San Antonio for a unique experience. The Cap Blanc Aquarium is set inside a natural sea cave carved into the rock and shelters moray eels, octopus, rays and Mediterranean fish in a recreated habitat. A short and child-friendly visit, it feels quietly magical.

 

Lunch in San Antonio with a traditional bullit de peix, then end the day at Cala Bassa, known for its turquoise waters and pine-fringed shade. Older children may try paddleboarding or hire a pedal boat together.

 

Day 4: Kayak, caves and hidden waters. Ruta de las Cuevas (Kayak and snorkelling included)

This morning, lifejackets on and adventure awaits. The Ruta de las Cuevas takes you by double kayak along a wild coastline where cliffs plunge into deep blue water. A local guide leads you towards sea caves accessible only from the water, some opening only at low tide, hidden passages worthy of an adventure novel.

 

Snorkelling stops in secluded coves reveal rich seagrass meadows, Posidonia, the Balearic marine plant protected by UNESCO, while snacks and drinks are served on board to keep energy levels high. GoPro photos of your underwater explorations are provided afterwards as a keepsake.

 

In the afternoon, return to Insotel Tarida Beach to enjoy the pools and water park. An active morning well rewarded with a well-earned ice cream.

Day 5: Aloe, botany and a secret cove. Nature day (Bibo Park. Ibizaloe and Aloe Vera Museum included)

This morning, head inland for a distinctive and educational experience. Bibo Park and its Ibizaloe plantation is an ecological farm set in a beautiful natural landscape, home to over 20,000 aloe vera plants grown organically. During a guided one-hour visit, children watch fresh leaf harvesting, learn the history of this ancient plant across civilisations from the Egyptians to today, and taste natural products derived from the harvest.

 

On the way south, pause in the whitewashed village of San Josep de Sa Talaia, with its flower-lined streets, baroque church and small artisan markets. A perfect stop for a café con leche and a slice of greixonera, the traditional Ibizan dessert made with bread and eggs.

 

In the afternoon, continue to Cala Vadella, a sheltered bay with calm, shallow waters ideal for younger children. Fringed by pine trees and equipped with a relaxed seaside promenade, it offers kayak and pedal boat rentals for a gentle end to the day.

Day 6: Eivissa, 2,500 years of history under the sun

Head to Ibiza Town (Eivissa) to explore with wide-open eyes. If your stay falls on a Saturday, begin at the lively Las Dalias market in San Carlos (10am to 8pm), with over 200 stalls of designers, jewellers, ceramicists and artisans set within a flowering garden. Children enjoy the colourful atmosphere and can take part in bracelet-making workshops.

 

Continue up to Dalt Vila, the old fortified town and UNESCO World Heritage site. Perched on a rocky promontory, this 16th-century citadel reveals massive ramparts, cobbled streets and at its summit, the Cathedral of the Snow with its bell tower visible across the bay. The panoramic views over Formentera and the surrounding islets are unforgettable.

 

Later, stroll down to the harbour, where yachts and fishing boats sit side by side. Enjoy lunch by the water with salt-baked sea bream or arroz a banda before returning to the hotel for a final swim at Cala Tarida and a sunset on the beach, one of the most beautiful on the island.

 

Day 7: Last moments in Cala Tarida and departure

Your final morning in Ibiza deserves to be savoured. An early swim in the crystal waters of Cala Tarida before the beach awakens. The soft morning light dances across the seagrass beds, giving the sea an extraordinary emerald glow.

 

Before leaving, stop by the Ibizaloe boutique or a delicatessen in San José to pick up local souvenirs, bottles of hierbas ibicencas, organic aloe vera products, salted almonds, dried figs or handcrafted filigree jewellery.

 

Return your hire car at the airport and depart with memories, photographs, sea air still lingering, and perhaps a quiet desire to return next year.

Ibiza Airport: Once you have collected your luggage, exit the terminal and cross the pedestrian crossing towards car park P1.

Take the lift to the first floor and head towards the parking spaces marked in yellow, between numbers 924 and 943, where you will wait for the Centauro Rent a Car shuttle, running every 10 to 15 minutes.
