Your Destination —
Roughly spanning 150 km of coastline between the towns of Almuñécar and Estepona on Spain’s southern coast, the Costa del Sol is an enduringly popular choice for a sun-soaked holiday, whether you’re looking to explore the region’s award-winning golf courses, relax on a beautiful sandy beach, or discover exciting nightlife.
The region’s beating heart is the city of Málaga, a destination that's famed for its trendy bars and nightclubs, but also, for housing a unique cultural heritage dating back to 770 BC. Make sure to spend time exploring sights such as the Museo Picasso (the surrealist artist was born in the city) and the Alcazaba, a palatial fortification built in the early 11th century. Just outside Málaga in Torremolinos, Aqualand is the largest water park on the Costa del Sol and is the perfect place for a family day out, while couples will enjoy exploring glamorous Marbella, home to elegant shops and a picturesque old town.
While the Costa del Sol is known for its beaches and crystal-clear waters which are perfect for diving, it’s also worth exploring the quaint Andalusian villages further inland, where you can taste authentic Spanish tapas and experience the slow life Spain is known for. Make a special trip to Ojen to see stunning whitewashed architecture, or head to Júzcar, where the entire town has been painted blue!
