The OYO Hotel Valles de Gredos 4* is located in the heart of the historic Extremadura region of Spain, bordered in the west by Portugal, in the north and east by the region of Castile de Leon and in the south by Andalucia. This area is one of the least populated in Spain, making it the perfect holiday destination for anyone looking for a rural, peaceful getaway with access to some of Spain's most historic cities.

Cáceres is the capital of one of the largest provinces in Extremadura, and has plenty to offer a traveler looking for some city-centre culture during their stay in this striking part of the Spanish countryside. The medieval Old Town of Cáceres is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you could wander for hours in its traffic-free streets and alleys.

It is also worth taking a drive out to Monfragüe National Park, the name of which comes from the Roman Monsfragoum, which means 'lush mountain'. Make sure to also visit Yuste Monastery, a 30 minute drive from the hotel, the spot where Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, died.

These extra months over 10 years will not count towards the 6 months that must be remaining.
