The pretty town of Calpe on Alicante's Costa Blanca offers 300 days of sunshine a year, a variety of Roman and medieval landmarks, a sandy beach and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and markets.
The landmark Ifach (large limestone outcrops) dominate the skyline and make for some beautiful sunset views.
Ideal for nature lover and active holidaymakers, Calpe is surrounded by hills and mountains, making it very popular with cyclists, runners and hikers.
Torrevieja is famed for is its beaches, and you'll find everything you could possibly want from a beach at La Mata. Located on the northern side of Torrevieja, the beach boasts a fantastic selection of activities including watersports. Venture further south and you'll come across Los Naufragos beach which is a perfect spot if you're after a bit of peace and quiet.
A Torrevieja holiday isn't complete without a visit to the local waterpark. If you're heading on a family holiday, Aquopolis is the perfect way to spend a day.
For those that appreciate local history then the 'Salterns of Torrevieja' are well worth a visit. The two lakes, consisting entirely of salt water are the second largest in the world. Elsewhere plenty of history is also on offer within La Mata.
Walking around Lorca is like strolling through an open air museum: Baroque architecture, Roman villas, palaces, 16th century churches and more line the cobbled streets. Be transported through time as you walk along the old walls or visit the Lorca Castle.
Those wanting to know more about this fascinating area can visit the Archaeological Museum. We also recommend guests visit the market, where a colorful cornucopia of produce is on offer.
