The Maldives archipelago consists of 1190 tiny islands scattered across the Indian Ocean. Only 185 of these islands are inhabited, while the others are used mostly for tourism and agriculture. The atolls are composed of live coral reefs and sand bars perched atop a submarine ridge, while the land features lush tropical vegetation with abundant local coconut palms.

The Maldives is renowned for its incredible diving opportunities. The crystal clear water and shallow lagoons are perfect for snorkelling, while the reef walls offer a kaleidoscope of sea life for more experienced divers. The Maldives has a fantastic diversity of sea life, with corals and over 2000 species of fish, ranging from reef fish and reef sharks to moray eels, rays and whale sharks. The island's many sheltered lagoons also provide the perfect destination to enjoy an adventure-filled family holiday or a romantic getaway for two.

Filitheyo Island Resort 4*

Welcome to the Filitheyo Island Resort 4*, the only resort on the unspoilt Faafu Atoll. This natural paradise is surrounded by lush vegetation and a stunning reef bursting with aquatic life - a paradise for scuba divers. Guests at this 4* Maldives resort can do as much or as little as they please - splash in the warm turquoise lagoon, enjoy a private, romantic dinner under the stars, hop on a boat excursion to explore other islands, or head to the spa: an oasis of calm surrounded by verdant tropical vegetation. The freeform infinity pool, complete with a swim-up bar, is the perfect vantage point to admire the sunset.

Please note: Some facilities may incur an additional fee, payable locally.
