Our primary concern is the wellbeing of guests and staff and we endeavour to reassure guests and staff of our ongoing commitment to their safety, comfort and wellbeing.

We have worked closely with the local authority in order to apply their safety guidelines and following expert advice we have developed and implemented our own rigorous protocol going above and beyond what is internationally required.


The situation relating to the virus is continually evolving as more becomes known about it.

We continue to monitor developments and adjust our policies accordingly. Full recognition is given to the recommendations of international bodies such as the WHO and the protocols required by the local Governments and authorities where we operate.

Prior to re-opening our Relais, we engaged specialised firm to deep clean and sanitise all hotel areas which include all rooms and public spaces
and back of house areas. All air conditioning units and air filters have been verified.

All employees received training in the new protocols before the hotel opening. This includes interaction with guests and welcome procedures.
All contractors and third parties we deal with are asked to follow the same procedures.

All hotel rooms are meticulously cleaned and sanitised, using professionally certified products effective against Covid-19, each room will be disinfected and sealed after each guest departure and the air is sanitized thanks to the use of an ozone generator.

Enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures have been implemented in all public areas and lifts.

The team members sanitise all surfaces and touch points on a regular basis throughout the day.

Social distancing is observed in all public areas as required by local regulations.

The same vigorous cleaning and disinfection procedures have been applied to our staff and back of house areas.

Hand sanitisers are available in guest bedrooms and sanitisers are available in all guest areas.

This romantic city is known for being the location of which William Shakespeare’s most popular play, Romeo and Juliet, takes place. Although the playwright never visited in his life, it’s easy to see why he chose Verona. It’s achingly beautiful with a first-century amphitheatre that’s similar to the Coliseum in Rome, though Verona’s is still used today for concerts and theatre performances.


Despite being fiction, that hasn’t stopped people from flocking to "Juliet’s House" and "Romeo’s House" to pay homage to the ill-fated lovers. Escape the crowds and wander along the river. You’ll find that the bridges all look markedly different from one another. Some were built centuries apart and work to be enduring examples of evolving architecture and engineering.

If your passport describes you as a British Citizen, you do not need a visa to enter Italy. For non-British citizens, you should check the current entry requirements on the website of the Italian Foreign Ministry.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As of October 18th 2020, the UK Government has confirmed that Italy has been removed from the safe travel list, therefore 14 days of self-isolation quarantine upon reentering the UK will be mandatory upon return from Sunday 18th October at 4am. Tourists choosing to book stopover flights may not be permitted to return without quarantining if the country they stop off in is not also listed as green/amber by the UK Government. Please note that this information is constantly being reviewed and may be subject to change.

If travellers have visited Croatia, Greece, Malta or Spain within 14 days of their arrival in Italy, they have to present proof of a negative PCR test that's no older than 72 hours OR take a test upon arrival and quarantine in the hotel while waiting for the results. All travellers visiting the island of Sardinia must have the results of a negative PCR test on arrival that's less than 48 hours old. 

The Italian Government requires all travellers from the UK to show they have taken a test within 72 hours of arrival along with a negative result. Those unable to provide evidence will be able to take a test in Italy. If tested positive, you will be required to quarantine.
