This romantic city is known for being the location of which William Shakespeare’s most popular play, Romeo and Juliet, takes place. It’s achingly beautiful with a first-century amphitheatre that’s similar to the Coliseum in Rome, though Verona’s is still used today for concerts and theatre performances.
