Your Destination —
Natural Park of Camargue; this trip offers gateway to stunning natural scenery and a wide span of majestic wildlife.
Parc Naturel Régional de Camargue ranges across 820 km² of France's landscape. As some of the most protected wildlife in all of Europe, it is well worth exploring on your holiday. Why not spend some time at the roadside museum learning some facts on the flora and fauna of the area, as well as the history that has made Camargue what it is today. In visiting Camargue, guests will be able to uncover the secrets of the area, from the exceptionally preserved landscape to the lives of over 400 species of bird that call the area home.
One huge draw to the area is the park's eponymous horse breed, the famous white Camarguais. Ridden by local 'gardians', who rear the region's cattle for fighting bulls, these spectacular white horses are an intrinsic part of life in Camargue and are most certainly not to be missed.
For guests who wish to roam outside the countrified area, the classically beautiful and historic town of Arles is also nearby, classified as a "City of Art and history" and allowing guests a break away from the quiet surroundings of the hotel, and an introduction into France's rich history and architecture. As home to the likes of Vincent Van Gogh in the time he painted over 300 pieces of artwork, Arles is steeped in culture. Since 1970 it has been home to an international photography festival, and its frequently noted roman architecture dates back to 123BC. The city is, however, not only perfect escape for lovers of the past. Arles' open-air street market is one of the liveliest and most prosperous in the region, running twice weekly and making for a fun day out away from the hotel.
