Built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, a 12-km-long Lungomare coastal promenade displaying monuments of the famous people who used to stay in Opatija.
Girl with the Seagull
The sculpture of a girl with the seagull, placed here in 1956, is a work by the sculptor Zvonimir Car. Over time, it has become one if the symbols of Opatija. It was placed here to watch over the soul of Count Arthur Kesselstadt, who went missing in a sea storm not far from this promontory in 1891.
Church of St. James
The Church of St. James was built in the early 15th century as a Benedictine colony. Today, very little remains of its original appearance, yet it has been expanded and hosts holy masses and chamber concerts.
St. James's Park
Located in the centre of the town, the Park of St. James is one of Opatija's most recognisable landmarks and a multiple winner of Croatia's most beautiful park award.
