Your destination —
Welcome to Croatia's glorious Dalmatian Coast, a sprawling region stretching 350km along the Adriatic and encompassing varied and dramatic landscapes of islands, mountains and hidden coves. Christened by the Romans, Dalmatia has been home to a palimpsest of cultures from Illyrians, Romans, and Slavs, to Austro-Hungarians and Venetians. Now, the region is popular with culture-thirsty tourists, seeking that perfect blend of immersive history and tantalising beaches.
The Makarska Riviera sits beneath the towering Biokovo mountain and sweeps across 60km of beautiful coastline and crescent bays. The sunny climate and long pebble beaches are kissed by the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. Head to the Old Town of Makarska to roam the patchwork of narrow cobbled streets and visit the Franciscan Monastery and their esteemed shell collection featuring a giant clam!
