Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, and be welcomed by our driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in and a refresh. After breakfast, 07h45 – 08h00 you will leave Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Upon arrival, transfer to a junk for a cruise around Ha Long Bay with a delicious local seafood lunch served on board. Passing many rocks and islets in shape of Dog, Incense, Fighting-cock, Finger, Hoa Cuong etc. and visit a cave and short swim, kayak (kayak cost is not include in this package), if weather permitted. Have dinner on board. In the evening, enjoy the night fishing and later overnight on board.

Mekong Delta in a Day (Lunch Included) - on Day 2

After a 2.5-hour drive from bustling Saigon, we arrive in Ben Tre. You then board Apricot Cruise, a new boat design open on all sides to allow the river breezes to flow freely. Meandering down the Mekong, you'll have a chance to observe from the comfort of the Apricot Cruise as local life plays out on the riverbanks: the people and stunning landscapes, while your attentive crew serves cold drinks and seasonal fruit.Your first visit is at a coconut-shell-charcoal processing site on a small islet. Observe the whole procedure and see how the locals utilize every bit of the coconut.

Return to Apricot Cruise for a short ride to the next attraction. Hop back on the mainland, see how locals peel off coconut husks with simple tools. Next, a tuk-tuk ride will take you to a local family making coconut-leaf-swabs. Meet our friendly host and gain insight into local traditional methods to make a swab, a hands-on and fun experience.Continue with a relaxing bike ride on the lush and green rural road. Cycle through peaceful villages, meet friendly & smiling locals saying hello and feel the tranquil scenes of rural life. Next, relax on a rowing boat as you wind your way through the crisscrossing canals observing the slow pace of Mekong Delta life.

Then a short walk on a narrow village lane brings you to Mr. Ba’s family. His hospitable greetings and tasty local cake will make you feel immediately at home. His family members are happy to share the local cake making procedure. Join them, try to make a local cake on your own under their enthusiastic instruction. Enjoy tea with honey and dried coconut while chatting with them about their daily routines, local culture, customs and why you don’t let a local fortune-teller tell you what is supposed to happen in the future. Lunch is served with Mekong specialties at Apricot Riverside Restaurant. Relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere before transferring to the pier where the waiting driver will take you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

My Son Sanctuary & Ancient Town Hoi An Visit (Lunch Included) - On Day 4 or 5

Around 08.00, meet the guide for a visit to My Son Sanctuary, an UNESCO World Heritage site, 40 km southwest of Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son once was a capital and religious centre of Cham people. With its impressive red brick towers and sanctuaries, My Son is considered to be in the same league as some of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, and Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia.

The remaining towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7th to 13th centuries. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour around Hoi An Ancient Town. Visit the Japanese covered bridge, Chinese assembly hall, a typical Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the interesting museums and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-measure clothes if you like. Head back to hotel to relax.

Ninh Binh - Tam Coc - Bich Dong - Ha Long Bay on Land (Lunch Included) - On Day 7

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide and driver will pick you up and drive you to the nature reserve. Arriving at Trang An pier, a flat-bottomed rowboat will take you to discover what is known as the "Ha Long Bay on Land". Take a 02 hour boat trip and row through many flooded caves with weird names: Tối (dark), Sáng (bright), Nấu Rượu (alcohol distillation), Ba Giọt (three caves), etc. Nowadays, there are about 48 discovered caves in Trang An, which nestled among a harmonious and intact landscape made from mountains and river. The tectonics exercised in these places for millions of years has made it a vast complex that constitutes a unique ecosystem hosting several dozen endemic species of fauna and flora. (Notes: During Vietnamese New Year (January, February, or March) when there are many Vietnamese tourists, the above program will be replaced by visits to the Van Long Nature Reserve as below:

After breakfast, depart for Van Long Nature Reserve, a completely natural and authentic landscape which located 20km north of Ninh Binh city centre. Upon arrival, take a rowing boat tour to discover the Van Long Nature Reserve (also known as the Van Long Biological Preservation Area), an exceptional natural site. This 2 hour boat trip allows you to discover an array of great poetry in a quiet setting, with karstic rocks emerging from the water and wildlife are all around. Far from the hustle cities, you will feel calm among nature with birds, waters, limestone rocks, and plants.Lunch at a local restaurant.In the afternoon, take a bike ride to discover the ancient Bich Dong Pagoda and the surrounding area – the typical rural landscape of the Red River Delta.

Daily Life, Local Cuisine and Cultural Sites of Hanoi - On Day 8

Get prepared for a unique experience when you will get to know about the cuisine of Hanoi, combining with a close testimony of the daily local lifestyle. 08h00: your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. After that, you'll become a Vietnamese in a half-day time by going to a local market, strolling through to buy fresh ingredients to cook, then prepare & decorate a real Vietnamese meal. Share fun moments together then enjoy your labour for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays) which offers an insight into the 54 different ethnic groups of Vietnam. It is located on a property of about 13,200 m² in Cầu Giấy district. Later on, head back to the city centre to visit the Saint-Joseph cathedral, which was built in 1886 by the French under the episcopate of M. Paul-François Puginier.
