Seattle
Welcome to Seattle
Welcome to Seattle, a city where cutting-edge innovation meets rugged natural beauty. Surrounded by water, evergreen forests, and mountain peaks, this Pacific Northwest hub is as much about outdoor adventure as it is about vibrant urban energy. Whether you’re here for coffee, culture, or the call of the wild, Seattle has a way of drawing you in.

- Taking in panoramic views from the Space Needle
- Visiting the Museum of Pop Culture, a bold celebration of music and creativity
- Exploring Chihuly Garden and Glass for dazzling blown-glass art

Culinary scene
Seattle’s culinary scene is defined by its love of fresh, local ingredients. Wild salmon, Dungeness crab, and Pacific oysters star on menus, while food trucks dish up inventive global flavours. Of course, no trip is complete without a cup of coffee. Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks and remains one of the best places in the world for a carefully crafted brew.
Good to know:
Seattle’s weather can be famously drizzly, so pack a light rain jacket and comfortable shoes. The city is well-connected by light rail, buses, and ferries, making it simple to explore both the urban core and its natural surroundings.
Alaska
Vast, untamed and profoundly awe-inspiring, Alaska is one of the world’s last true frontiers. This immense American state is defined by raw natural beauty: towering snow-capped mountains, immense glaciers, endless forests and a coastline carved by icy fjords. Here, nature reigns supreme, offering a sense of scale and solitude found nowhere else. Whether bathed in the endless daylight of summer or illuminated by the dancing Northern Lights in winter, Alaska promises a journey that feels both humbling and unforgettable.
Must-sees:
- Denali National Park: Home to Denali, North America’s highest peak, and vast wilderness teeming with wildlife.
- Kenai Fjords National Park: A dramatic coastal landscape of tidewater glaciers, fjords and marine life.
- Glacier Bay National Park: A UNESCO-listed wonder where colossal glaciers meet the sea.
- Anchorage: Alaska’s largest city, offering museums, local culture and access to the surrounding wilderness.
- Fairbanks: One of the best places in the world to witness the Aurora Borealis.
Culinary culture:
Alaskan cuisine is rooted in freshness and tradition. Expect wild-caught salmon, king crab, halibut and smoked fish, alongside berries foraged from pristine landscapes. Indigenous culinary influences remain strong, while modern restaurants reinterpret local ingredients with creativity. From rustic lodges to refined dining, meals in Alaska are deeply connected to the land and sea.
Dive deeper:
Beyond its iconic parks, Alaska invites extraordinary experiences. Cruise past glaciers calving into icy waters, spot bears fishing along rivers, or take a scenic flight over mountain ranges and remote valleys. In summer, hiking, kayaking and wildlife viewing reveal endless daylight and vibrant landscapes. In winter, dog sledding, snowshoeing and stargazing beneath the aurora offer a quieter, magical perspective on the wilderness.
Good to know:
Alaska is accessible via Anchorage International Airport, the main gateway to the state. The best time to visit is from June to September for mild weather and outdoor exploration, or from November to March for winter landscapes and northern lights. The local currency is the US dollar (USD).
