Built in 1866 the Borrowdale Hotel has an interesting history with the original 41 room bells, which, although no longer working, are still proudly displayed outside the reception area. The comfortable lounges invite you to relax and enjoy a rest after a day on the fells or a boat trip from Keswick – perhaps with a spot of afternoon tea or a drink before dinner. All 40 bedrooms have been refurbished in the last 4 years and that the bar, lounge and conservatory have just finished being refurbished.

This offer is based on a Half Board stay (including a superb 3 course dinner each night). Just for you: complimentary tea and cake on the day of arrival.

Dining is a pleasure with delicious local produce featuring on the four course table d’hôte menu. The hotel prides itself on superb silver service – an art lost in many places and something few can truly master. You will also see Chef carving succulent local roasts at your table from the silver carving trolley.
The finest of food deserves the finest of wines, so through glass doors in the restaurant a stunning walk-in wine cellar displays the hotel’s wine and Champagne collection. Feel free to browse and choose your own wine to compliment your dinner.
The oak panelled lounge bar is open all day, serving morning coffees, lunches, afternoon teas and early evening bar meals.

Golf lovers can enjoy a round at the stunning Keswick Golf Club – an 18 hole parkland course that provides a good test for golfers of all abilities and one which boasts panoramic views of the fells, taking in Blencathra, Skiddaw and Clough head.
For a more sedentary break, take a launch trip on Derwentwater, visit Mire House or peruse the many shops and galleries in Keswick and beyond.
