Your 4-Night Safari Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Arrive in Kilimanjaro - Arusha
Arrive at the Kilimanjaro airport. You will go through customs and police formalities. Your visa is to be obtained before arrival with a valid passport directly online at: https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/
You will be greeted at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania, situated at the foot of Mount Meru, close to Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks, but also not far from the Serengeti. Just to the north, on the slopes of Mount Meru, is Arusha National Park. Built by the Germans as a centre of colonial administration because of the temperate climate, Arusha is a great place to relax for a day or two between your safaris.
Stay overnight at Four Points by Sheraton Arusha (or similar). You can add dinner on this night at the next stage of the booking process.
Day 2: Karatu
Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. You will have a short briefing, and then you will take to the road in your 4x4 vehicle with your driver-guide for the Tarangire National Park.
Arrive in the Tarangire region, the least visited of the northern Tanzanian parks, but brimming with exceptional flora composed of nine types of vegetation, ranging from baobab to umbrella acacia. There is also a high density of animal life, especially along the Tarangire River.
Tarangire National Park covers an area of 2,600 square kilometres and is located in the Maasai steppe, not far from Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley. The landscape of Tarangire National Park is very different from other reserves. Situated at a much lower altitude, it benefits from a hot and humid climate which develops a great variety of vegetation, in particular, gigantic baobabs which are one of the attractions of this park. Tarangire is a wonderful place to visit in the dry season, due to the opportunity to see the animals head for the river to quench their thirst. The latest census is impressive: 30,000 impala, 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, 6,000 buffalo, just to name a few. It is also a park rich in cats and birds.
Have a picnic lunch in the park. Then, depart for your last safari in a savannah where impalas, zebras, giraffes and elephants are particularly numerous.
At the end of the day, depart for Karatu, where you will have dinner (excluding drinks) and stay overnight at The Retreat At Ngorongoro Lodge (or similar).
Day 3 & 4: Karatu
After breakfast, choose one of these 4 optional excursions (you can choose one for day 3 and one for day 4):
Excursion 1 - DAY SAFARI IN MANYARA PARK
Depart with your driver guide to Manyara National Park. Drive through the Masai steppe, dotted with many picturesque African villages, surrounded by maize fields, coffee plantations and banana plantations. You will spend a day on safari in Manyara National Park in search of elephants and giraffes, and may even get a glimpse of lions, perched in the trees!
Manyara National Park, 330 km2, is located on the main road to Ngorongoro and is renowned for its variety of landscapes and rich wildlife. You will first drive through a small acacia forest with numerous baboons and exotic birds before driving through the plains often populated by herds of buffalo and arriving at Lake Manyara. You can see many elephants, giraffes and sometimes lions basking on the branches of acacia trees, for which the park is famous! At certain times of the year, the area around the lake is populated by thousands of flamingos, as well as numerous pelicans, fish eagles, sacred ibises, crowned cranes and marabouts. Groups of hippos can be seen, sometimes out of the water. More than 400 species of birds live here - a real treat for birdwatchers.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park under the shade of the acacia trees.
Return to Karatu at the end of the day.
Excursion 2 - DAY SAFARI IN THE NGORONGORO CRATER
Depart with your driver guide and head east towards the Ngorongoro Crater. You will descend into the heart of the crater for a fantastic safari experience. The symbiosis between the mammals and this magnificent site is pure bliss and remains an unforgettable moment.
The Ngorongoro Crater is an exceptional wildlife viewing area, and it is no surprise that it is one of Tanzania's main attractions for tourists. Inside the crater, everyday wildlife scenes play out as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze near lions, leopards, elephants and black rhinos.
Have a picnic lunch in the heart of the crater, then, continue the safari and in the afternoon drive back to Karatu.

While visiting them, you can observe the men during their daily hunting session, where they use traditional bows and arrows, or the women gathering fruits and berries.

Charismatic, full of life and rich in history and culture, the quaint, cobbled streets of Stone Town are a delight to explore and offer up no end of treats, including the relaxed seafront promenade, the faded colonial buildings, the colourful food markets and unique touches such as the Aldabra giant tortoises at Prison Island (a short 30-minute boat ride from Stone Town itself).
