Hermanus - Beautiful Hermanus is a South African seaside town that’s a popular whale-watching site. An initial visit to the Old Harbour Museum will acquaint you with the area’s rich fishing history and impress you with a massive exhibit of a whale skeleton. With dozens of area vineyards, Hermanus is a great base for a guided wine tasting tour.
Your Itinerary —
Upon your arrival in Cape Town, affectionately known as The Mother City, you will be met by a Thompsons Africa Representative who will thereafter assist you to your transfer that will take you to your hotel where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure. Day 2: Cape Town City Tour – Half Day
Today you will be collected from your hotel to join this amazing tour. Take a cable car to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain (own account and weather permitting) with views of the City and surrounding layout of this southernmost tip of Africa. Visit the country's oldest building, The Castle, and a short distance away, the Company Gardens, both historically fascinating and well conserved. Your drive will continue past Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the Slave Lodge, and you'll sense the depth of history via their distinctive architecture. Move up the cobblestoned hills to the Malay Quarter, and marvel at the ice-cream colours of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. Day 3: Peninsula Tour – Full Day
During this Tour you will travel along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire's Paradise - from Clifton to Camps Bay, to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno - towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay. You will have the option to embark on an up-close-and-personal Seal Island cruise (optional and for own account). Then, you will wind along the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views, before arriving at your lunch spot of choice (own account) at the Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park. Then you will meander back along the coast towards the City, visiting the historic naval port of Simon's Town and the endearing penguin colony at Boulder's Beach (own account). Finally, you will venture inland to your last stop of the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Day 4: Cape Town / Day at leisure
You can spend this time relaxing, take a trip to the beach or maybe a day at the pool is in order for you. You can also spend some time exploring the wonderful shopping experiences that this city has to offer, a visit to the V&A waterfront is definitely recommended. Today you will be collected from your hotel to embark on your journey towards the Winelands. You will be settling into a hotel in the charming university town of Stellenbosch which is the second oldest European settlement in the province after Cape Town. The remainder of the day will be at leisure. Overnight in Oude Werf Hotel.
Day 7: Depart Stellenbosch / Arrival to Hermanus
Road transfer to Hermanus. Overnight at the Harbour House Hotel.
Day 8 - Private transfer from Hermanus Hotel to Cape Town International Airport
Transfer to Cape Town airport and flight to Joburg. Overnight at Joburg airport at Garden Court hotel.
Transfer by road to Elandela. 3 nights at Elandela
Day 12 – Transfer by road back to Joburg airport for flight home
