The houses that crowd together in the maze of alleyways at the top of the medina, overlooking the town & valley, have typically Moroccan studded doors, carved cornices, porches & wrought-iron balconies. The lower part of each of these whitewashed houses is painted a blueish-mauve (originally used by the Andalusians to keep the houses cool & ward off insects).
Fes
Traverse some of the 9,000 streets of this maze-like district, passing the city’s oldest mosques and religious schools. Later, a visit to a local tannery provides a fascinating insight into a craft that has remained unchanged for centuries.

5-Night Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tangier airport, you will be directly translated to your hotel in Tangier, whereupon you'll have the rest of the day to relax or explore. Dinner and overnight in Tangier.
Day 2: Tangier - Tetouan - Chefchaouen
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Petit Socco and the Grand Socco: the Grand socco (from the Spanish meaning souk) is housed at the entrance to the medina. Then visit the United States Legation: this is the first American historical monument located outside the United States. It's a small palace, located in the heart Kasbah, built in 1821 by Sultan Moulay Sulaiman, the fifth president of the United States.After a short break in Tetouan with a guided tour, you will later head to Chefchaouen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen
Day 2: Tangier - Tetouan - Chefchaouen

After breakfast at the hotel, the whole day will be dedicated to discovering the beautiful blue pearl of the Rif Mountains with its majestic doors and walls. Located in a small town perched in the mountains of the northeast of Morocco, you will be offered some of the most magical Mediterranean views. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will head to Meknes and begin the visit to Bab Mansour and Bab El Khemis as well as Bou Inania Madrasa, founded by Sultan Abu Hassan Marini (1331-1351), under the Merenid dynasty. You will then continue to Fes. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Fez - Tangier
After breakfast, you will visit the oldest of the 4 imperial cities. You will visit the outside of the impressive Al Karaouine Mosque, the Medersa Attarine College, My Idriss Shrine and the craft district of the city. Then, you will return to Tangier. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Depart from Tangier
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
