Morocco
Morocco offers a rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Its labyrinthine medinas in Marrakech, Fez, and the serene blue city of Chefchaouen invite leisurely exploration. Wander through narrow streets, discovering ancient souks, historic mosques, and vibrant local life. Beyond the cities, the towering peaks of the Atlas Mountains promise stunning panoramas and rewarding treks.
Must-sees:

- The UNESCO-listed medina of Fez and its artisan workshops
- The tranquil charm of Chefchaouen, with its blue-painted streets and buildings
Culinary culture:
Morocco’s cuisine is an enticing journey for the senses. Sample the beloved tajine, a slow-cooked stew of tender meat and vegetables infused with fragrant spices. Mint tea, often referred to as ‘Moroccan whisky’, is a ceremonial drink served with hospitality. For dessert, enjoy baklava and kaab el ghazal, pastries flavoured with orange blossom, offering a taste of the country’s sweet legacy. Morocco’s culinary treasures are a reflection of its diverse culture, blending Arab, Berber, and Moorish influences.
Dive deeper:
To truly experience Morocco, venture off the beaten path. Visit the Ouzoud Waterfalls, an unspoiled natural wonder, or explore the Draa Valley, a less-visited region dotted with ancient kasbahs. Discover the Berber heritage by staying in traditional mountain lodges, where the pace of life slows and the connection to the land is palpable. You might also explore the desert with a camel trek to witness the vastness of the Sahara and its ever-shifting sands.
Good to know:
The currency used is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Morocco enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, making it a year-round destination. However, the summer months can be intensely hot in desert areas, so plan accordingly. Public transport is widely available, with buses, taxis, and trains connecting major cities. For the most authentic experience, take the time to walk through local markets and interact with artisans.
