Departure for Río Lagartos. About 100 km north of Valladolid, this small fishing village is the gateway to the Rio Lagartos National Park Reserve. A real paradise for nature lovers. Here you will find more than 200 species of birds. It is an ideal place to discover the Yucatán "differently". If you wish, you can take a boat trip through the mangrove and visit the surrounding area.

Then head to the famous pink lagoon of Las Coloradas which owes its name to the salinity of the water which gives it an incredible pink colour!

In the afternoon, you will drive to Ek Balam, a little known town with an absolutely beautiful Mayan site. Why not visit it?

Included: Overnight stay in a hotel + breakfast

Optional: Boat trip to Rio Lagartos and Las Coloradas (see excursion pack)

Not included: Visit to Ek Balam (to be paid on site)

Day 4: Chichen Itza - Izamal - Merida

Today, discover the marvellous site of Chichen Itza, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988, and considered since 2007 as one of the "new wonders of the world". You will be immersed in the majesty of this site and the echo of its past glory. You will then go to the Yokdznonot Cenote to refresh yourself in its clear waters.

Afterwards, you will head to Izamal, a charming colonial "magic village", and visit the Franciscan convent of San Antonio de Padua, whose atrium is second in size only to the Vatican. You can also climb the Kinich Pyramid for a breathtaking view of this yellow city.

End of the day in Mérida, the cultural capital of Yucatán. A city of one million inhabitants, it is famous for its cathedral and its paseo Montejo lined with the sumptuous residences of the old masters of henequen. Walking through the colonial streets of the white city, you will feel the romantic and provincial atmosphere of a past rich in history and legends.

Includes: Overnight stay in a hotel + breakfast

Optional: Chichen Itza entrance + Yokdzonot Cenote entrance with cooking class (see excursions pack)

Day 5 : Uxmal

We suggest you get on a bike and ride from cenote to cenote. You can have lunch in a hacienda to get a taste of the Yucatecan cuisine.

In the afternoon, swim in one of the cenotes of the region. For the more adventurous, enjoy a bike ride through the bush to the surrounding villages and haciendas. Return to Merida at the end of the day and enjoy the lively Zocalo in the heart of the Yucatecan capital.

We advise you not to leave too late to make the most of Holbox, there are covered and secure car parks up to a few steps from the pier, it costs 5 EUR for 24h. For the crossing, your tickets are not included in the package, you have to buy them at the entrance of the boats, there are departures every 30 minutes. Count 10 EUR per person for the crossing.

Included: Overnight stay in a hotel + breakfast

Optional: Ferry crossing

Day 7 to 8 or 7 to 10: Holbox Island

Holbox is a charming island, where walking through the narrow sandy streets is a real pleasure. The main square is in the heart of the village where you can find shops, cafés, restaurants and the facades that are covered with street art. Holbox is the perfect place for a quiet stay in a relaxing atmosphere. You can cycle or golf cart from Punta Coco in the south to the last hotel in the north, Las Nubes.

There are many activities to do in Holbox: kayaking in the mangrove to admire the beauty of this natural landscape, diving to enjoy the diversity of animals that the Mexican sea has to offer, snorkelling with whale sharks (from May to September), kitesurfing or boating to explore the surroundings.

We recommend renting a bike to explore the whole island and its different beaches. At sunset, head to Punta Coco for a swing, a swim or the more chic version, on a rooftop.
