Day 1 - 3
Found on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea, Cancún is one of Mexico's most popular destinations thanks to its beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife.
After arrival in Cancún, you will be given all the information necessary to get out safely and join the Xplorer, which will take you to your hotel. Your rental car will be available to collect the next day.

Day 2: Cancun - Coba - Valladolid
Wake up to a delicious breakfast and head into the middle of the Yucatecan jungle to Coba. Enjoy exceptional views once you climb to the top of the highest pyramid in the region, then continue on to the charming, typically Yucatecan town of Valladolid. Pay a visit to the Zocalo and its cathedral, and get lost wandering the city centre, passing by the municipal bazaar and the San Bernardino convent.

Day 3: Rio Lagartos - Las Coloradas
After breakfast, you are going to Río Lagartos, a small fishing village at the gateway to the Rio Lagartos National Park Reserve. A true paradise for nature lovers with the possibility of a scenic boat trip through the lush mangroves.
Next on your list is the famous pink lagoon of Las Coloradas, which owes its name to the salinity of the water, and provides the perfect photo opportunity. In the afternoon, take the road back to Valladolid to its serene cenotes, or underground chambers filled with crystal clear water.

Day 4: Valladolid - Ek Balam - Chichen Itza
Spend your morning at the mysterious Ek Balam, or "black jaguar" in Mayan. An ancient religious centre of great regional importance, it boasts great city and jungle views from numerous vantage points. Hire bikes or go on foot to Xcanche cenote with an abseiling wall, hammocks and a zip line on offer.
Enjoy lunch amidst the lush at the cenote ecotourism centre, and as evening sets in make your way to Chichen Itza, where a sound and light show await you.

Day 5: Valladolid - Chichen Itza - Cenotes - Izmal - Merida
Set off to discover the marvellous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Chichen Itza, considered one of the "New Wonders of the World" since 2007. Make your way to the Yokdznonot cenote for a refreshing dip in its clear waters then head for Izamal to see its Franciscan convent of San Antonio de Padua.
End your day in Mérida, the cultural capital of Yucatán, famous for its cathedral and the Montejo paseo -inspired by European boulevards and lined with lavish mansions

Day 6: Merida - Uxmal - Merida
Dig into a delicious breakfast then you are off to Uxmal, a major site on the "Ruta Puuc", with its nuns' quadrangle and the governor's palace.
In the afternoon, take a dip in one of the region's cenotes. If you are feeling adventurous, explore the surrounding villages and haciendas on a bike ride through the scrubland. Return to Mérida at the end of the day, and enjoy the lively Zocalo in the heart of the Yucatecan capital.

Day 7: Merida - Tulum - Playa del Carmen
On today's agenda is the archaeological site of Tulum, one of the jewels of the Riviera Maya with the only known Mayan port. Soak up breathtaking panoramas of the Paraíso and Maya beaches before heading off to one of your choice to spend a lazy day amidst the sun, sea, sand and jungle.
As the sun sets, enjoy the festive atmosphere around the hotel and quench your thirst with a fruity cocktail from a beach club.

Boat trip to Rio Lagaritos and Las Coloradas
You will set off for San Felipe, a small fishing village which is the gateway to the Río Lagartos National Park Reserve. A true paradise for nature lovers. You'll board a "lancha" - a small motorboat - and set off on a tour of the mangroves to see the pink flamingos. Then head for the famous pink lagoon known as "Las Coloradas", with its breathtaking scenery guaranteed.

Cenote Yokdzonot with cooking class
An excursion to Yokdzonot will allow you to bathe in a beautiful cenote. Cenotes are freshwater springs that dot the peninsula. They are the only points of access to fresh water and are at the origin of the development of Mayan civilisation. You will attend a cooking class to learn all the secrets of Yucatecan recipes.

You will visit three of Homun's main cenotes (Cascabel, Chaksikin and Xoch). You will take a truck to each cenote.

Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza is one of the most important Mayan archaeological sites on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, in the state of Yucatan, in the south-east of the country. It was a city or ceremonial centre that underwent different phases of construction and influences from the different peoples who inhabited it. A wonderful place for tourists who want to learn more about the country's ancient past, perfect for you.
Merida
Merida is the vibrant capital of the Yucatán state, rich with Mayan and colonial heritage. The city has a main plaza called the Plaza de la Independencia which is next to the Merida Cathedral and the Iglesia de la Tercera Orden, both constructed with Mayan ruins and a must-see when visiting. The city's biggest draw is its gastronomy. There are several markets throughout the city where not only chefs go to buy their local produce, but you can as well - try the fruits and vegetables with a sprinkle of the local chilli powder.
Close to the city, you can find many famous archaeological sites such as the Chichen Itza, a 7th wonder of the world and well-preserved Mayan pyramid as well as the UNESCO-listed Mayan ruin the Uxmal. Merida is close enough that it makes a perfect base for exploring the Yucatán region.
