Day 3: Mérida - Uxmal - Mérida
Day 4: Mérida - Tulum - drop off at hotel for extension
Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1
Day 1:
Welcome to Mexico! After collecting your luggage, make your way to the exit where a representative will be waiting to meet and greet you. Transfer to your located hotel, and get into a holiday frame of mind for your first night in Cancún, with plenty of nearby drinking and dining options.
Overnight stay at La Quinta Inn by Wyndham 4* or similar.
Day 2
Day 2:
At the appointed time, your driver will pick you up to begin the adventure. You will start by visiting the colonial village of Valladolid, in the state of Yucatán. Enjoy the local specialities, visit the market and the main cathedral. The city is considered to be one of the "magic cities" of Mexico. Nearby, you may find cenotes open to visitors, so don't miss the chance to cool off with a swim.
When you arrive at Chichén Itzá, go straight to the ticket office for your tickets. Ask for a certified local guide, who can give you a tour in English. Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico, with over 2.6 million tourists per year. The site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 and is also considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world.
On the way back, ask your driver to make a quick stop in Izamal, the 'yellow city'. Next you will find the capital of the state of Yucatán, Mérida. Mérida was founded in 1542 by Montejo y León ("el Mozo") and is named after the city of Mérida in Extremadura, Spain.
For a brief period at the turn of the 20th century, Mérida was considered the city with the highest number of millionaires in the world. The result of this concentration of wealth is still visible today. Many large, elaborate houses still line the main avenue called Paseo de Montejo, although few are occupied today by individual families. Many of these houses have been restored and are now used as office buildings for banks and insurance companies. Your hotel is located in the city centre, so you don't need transport to enjoy a late afternoon stroll through the city.
Overnight stay at Casa del Balam 4* or Misión de Fray Diego 4* (or similar) in Mérida.
Day 3 & 4
Day 3:
We advise you to take to the road early to reach Uxmal as soon as possible (to beat the heat and the crowds). Uxmal is an ancient Mayan city from the classical period, located in present-day Mexico. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan culture, located in the Puuc region of the eastern Yucatán Peninsula, and is considered one of the most representative Mayan cities of the dominant architectural style in the region. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its importance. Nearby you can also find Kabah, another Puuc-style archaeological site to visit. Next to Uxmal, there are a few restaurants for lunch and also a cocoa museum, which is also worth a visit.
Overnight stay at Casa del Balam 4* or Misión de Fray Diego 4* (or similar) in Mérida.
Day 4:
From Mérida, you will return to the Maya Riviera via another famous site, called Tulúm. You will discover the ruins that are located on 12 metre high cliffs along the eastern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya; it was at its peak between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico.
At the end of the tour, return your hire care and enjoy a shared transfer to your hotel for the next part of your holiday.

Your Destinations —
Cancun
Cancun offers something for everyone, promising the best of the country's sun-soaked beaches, opulent all-inclusive resorts and dazzling turquoise waters, alongside fascinating Mayan ruins, quintessential Mexican culture and authentic cuisine.
By day, Cancun offers its visitors first-class service and total relaxation, as the sprawling hotels showcase endless entertainment, delicious dining opportunities, blissful wellness facilities and contemporary furnishings, all nestled on a stretch of unspoiled sand. By night, entertainment beckons as the legendary clubs open up their doors and the party begins!
For those hoping for a sense of tradition and culture during their stay on the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancun also offers up ancient treasures, where towering stone temples and astounding cities that date back centuries lay nestled in verdant surroundings. From the dramatic coastal setting of Tulum to the jungle scenery and magical lagoons of Coba and the iconic Es Castillo pyramid of Chichen Itza, Cancun's surrounding ruins provide an incredible day trip in total, sun-kissed paradise.
Please note, Mexico’s coastline is susceptible to large amounts of Sargassum seaweed and can be extreme quantities at times.
Yucatán Peninsula
In Mexico, the Yucatán Peninsula's Caribbean Coast stretches from Cancún to the border of Belize. The 80-mile slice from Tulum to the Punta Allen peninsula is known as the Riviera Maya. This tourist corridor of white-sand beaches, scenic ruins and fun-filled cenotes, was made for road-tripping, but you'd be remiss not to set aside time to explore the ancient remnants of the region's Mayan civilizations, too.
