You will have the opportunity to explore the impressive sites of the island and immerse yourselves in the fantastic panoramas.

Discover the natural beauty of the Mexican Caribbean by snorkelling in one of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean. All you will need to do on this excursion is relax and enjoy a delicious meal in the exclusive beach club. Then, once on the island, stroll on the island by foot or enjoy a golf cart ride.

Holbox Island Tour – Exclusive to Voyage Privé

Holbox Island offers 36 km of pristine white sand beaches bathed in an emerald green sea. On this exclusive excursion, you’ll tour spots like Isla Pasion and Punta Coco on a private boat, enjoy lunch at a five-star eco resort and more. In addition, there is golf buggy tour of the island to look forward to.  

Board your boat at Chiquila – piloted by a local fisherman – and be whisked off on a two-hour tour. Enjoy the beauty and crystalline waters of such magical spots as Isla Pasion, Punta Coco and Punta Mosquito, before heading to the eco resort for lunch followed by some laid back time on the sun loungers.

Then you’ll have the chance to jump into a golf buggy for some fun exploring of the area around the eco-resort. Next up is a trip to Holbox’s laidback main square for some free time before returning by ferry to Chiquila and on to Cancun.

Visit Chichén Itzá and Palomitas Cenote

The pre-Hispanic city of Chichen Itza is the most important and remarkable city of Mayan culture.  Once on the site, marvel at Chichén Itzá, considered one of the new Seven Wonders of the World and the most impressive archaeological site in America. During your trip to this historic monument, your guide will immerse you in the history of the Mayans and Mexico by reminiscing about the past and construction of this intriguing site.    

You will then visit the beautiful city of Valladolid founded in 1543 and build on an ancient archaeological site known as Zaci. As a result, Valladolid is the second largest and most important city in the Yucatán Peninsula. Once in Valladolid, you will enjoy a traditional lunch in a 17th century. Mexican pueblo. A real treat for your taste buds!

Afterwards, we´ll visit the flea Market and walk around the main square in town, before moving onto the "Palomitas" cenote. The cenotes of Mexico are renowned chasms filled with water which have formed over time and offer a breathtaking experience! Here, you’ll get to swim and enjoy this beautiful site - considered one of the most beautiful of the Yucatán peninsula.

Entry Requirements

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on. 


If you’re visiting Mexico as a tourist you don’t need a visa, but you’ll need to complete an immigration form and have this with you when you enter and leave Mexico. You can get one either when you arrive (forms are available at border crossings or onboard flights to Mexico) or online in advance from the National Institute of Immigration website. 


You need an immigration form to leave the country. If you lose your immigration form you can get it replaced at the immigration office at any international airport in Mexico. The cost of a replacement is $500 Mexican Pesos, which is payable at a bank.


Travelling to Mexico via the US


If you’re travelling to Mexico via the US, even if you’re only transiting, check the US entry requirements with the US Embassy in London. If you don’t have the correct authorisation you will not be allowed to travel to or transit through the US.

UK health authorities have classified Mexico as having a risk of Zika virus transmission. For more information and advice, visit the National Travel Health Network and Centre website.


Drink only boiled or bottled water and avoid ice in drinks.


In the last 3 years, there has been an increase in reported cases of a food and water bug, cyclospora, affecting travellers returning from Mexico, particularly from the Riviera Maya region between the months of May and June. You should follow the advice of the National Travel Health Network and Centre.


There have been cases of cholera in Quintana Roo.


Cases of Chikungunya virus have been confirmed in Mexico. For more details about this outbreak, see the website of the National Health Network and Centre. You should take steps to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.
The minimum age for driving a hire car in Mexico is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year. 

If you don't have a driver's license for the country you are travelling in, you will need either a European or international driving license.

The lead name on the booking will be confirmed as the named driver.  The named driver must present a credit card in their name when collecting the car (credit cards in other names will not be accepted).

The named driver must also present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card or cash deposit will be required.

Please ensure that you check your car hire documents carefully once received as this will advise if there are any taxes/charges to be paid locally as well as potential mileage restrictions.
