Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Chilaw (70 km / 2 hours)
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. After passing through the immigration formalities, collect your luggage, and go to meet your H.O.T Destination Management representative, who'll meet you at the arrivals lounge with a sign, and help you find your vehicle. You'll be immediately transferred to your hotel.
Check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2: ANURADHAPURA (210 KM / 3-4 HOURS)
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before taking your transfer to Anuradhapura. On the way, you'll visit a Hindu Temple.
Jeep safari to Wilpattu National Park:
Wilpattu is one of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. The park lies within the north-central and northwestern providences, in Sri Lanka's lowland dry zone. Elephants, leopards, sloths, water buffalo and spotted deer are among the large mammals that have made the park their home.

DAY 3: DAMBULLA (150 KM / 3 HOURS)
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Dambulla.
Anuradhapura:
Sri Lanka’s first capital was founded in 5 B.C. according to the first ancient Sinhala chronicle Mahavansa. Anuradhapura was an example par excellence of a hydraulic civilisation, with a network of reservoirs, canals and irrigation channels, exhibiting an amazing knowledge of trigonometry.
One of the unique features of Buddhist Sri Lanka is stupas, which enshrined relics of the Buddha and were objects of veneration. Anuradhapura is dotted with these stupas and picturesque lakes.
Note: The itinerary will take 1-2 hours.
Mihintale:
A mountain peak near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka, Mihintaleis is said to be the site of a meeting between Buddhist monk Mahinda, and King Devanampiyatissa, which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

DAY 4: DAMBULLA
Breakfast at hotel.
Sigiriya:
Sigiriya (Lion's rock) is an ancient fortress and palace in the central Dambulla of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of gardens and reservoirs. A popular tourist destination, Sigiriya is renowned for its ancient frescos. It is one of the Seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka and is UNESCO's Eighth Wonder of the World. If you wish to climb all the way to the top, it will take approx. 2 to 3 hours.
Continue on for your Village Trek, and insight into traditional Sri Lankan ways of life.
Village Tour, with lunch and cooking demonstration:
Take a catamaran ride and cross the lake to reach the house in the local village where you'll experience a cooking demonstration.
Enjoy a scenic catamaran ride in the reservoir, a relaxing trip with plenty of nature and wildlife, in the company of an expert guide. The reservoir is a habitat for many species of birds.
Experience traditional village life and walk-through paddy fields and vegetable crops in the area. Learn how to prepare delicious Sri Lankan delicacies, and try spicy, fresh treats for lunch.

Day 5: Kandy (100 KM / 3-4 hours)
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Kandy.
Dambulla Cave Temple:
Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the Dambulla Cave Temple consists of five caves and a picturesque facade carved into the side of a steep rock face. It houses ancient paintings depicting the Buddha and his life.
Home to the famous Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, along with the Iron Wood Forest, and the Rose Quartz Mountain Range, Dambulla has a particularly evocative history. The region in which it is found is known as the 'Cultural Triangle' by UNESCO.
On the way, visit an Ayurvedic Village. Sri Lanka was an important stop in the spice trade, with the first recording of cinnamon and cassia in the Middle East noted at least 4,000 years ago.
Note: spices are also available for sale at the site, but you are not obliged to buy any. Feel free to politely decline if you don't wish to purchase anything.
Later on in the evening, watch Kandyan dancers perform in a cultural show. The show lasts for almost an hour, and several dances are performed, representing more modern influences in Sri Lankan culture today.

DAY 6: COLOMBO (150 KM / 3 - 4 HOURS)
Eat your breakfast at the hotel, check out, and take your transfer to Colombo.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic:
The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or Dalada Maligawa, is a significant architectural monument not just in Kandy, but in the whole of Sri Lanka. It houses the most important Buddhist relic - a tooth of the Buddha, brought to Kandy by King Wimaladharmasuriya I. As well as the revered main temple, the complex encompasses several smaller temples and shrines.
Note: Modest clothing is recommended during the visit to the temple. Flowers can be purchased en route to the complex. You may take your camera, but footwear should be removed at the entrance to the temple, and there are safe storage facilities available for your belongings.
Kandy City:
Set amid verdant hills, with the Mahaweli River weaving through, Kandy is certainly the most picturesque city on the island, and the most visited. Still retaining much of its old-world charm and traditions, the centrepiece is the magnificent Kandy Lake.
Join your guide and continue the rest of the tour. Visit a Batik and Wood carving centre. Get an insight to local crafts and arts, and finely cut gems.
Note: The visit will take approx. 2-3 hours.
Continue on to Colombo, where you'll have a Colombo City Tour. Visit Squire, Gangaramaya Temple, and the historic Wolfendhal church.
Sri Lanka's largest city is located on the West Coast. Colonial-era buildings sit next to lively markets, and you'll find stylish dining spots and galleries on Colombo's more elegant, cosmopolitan side. Please note that the roads are often very busy, with lots of traffic.
