Your Destinations —
Your Malaysian adventure begins with 3 nights in the Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur. Relax amidst modern comfort in this hotel's ultra-stylish atmosphere and outstanding service.
Explore some of the highlights of this buzzing metropolis, where you will marvel at the juxtaposition of ancient and modern, from the iconic Petronus Towers to the ancient Gombak and Klang waterways. As this cosmopolitan city is most traveller's entry point to Malaysia, there is an abundance of glitzy hotels, shopping malls and highly acclaimed restaurants.
Spend a day visiting the Batu Caves - just 13km away! And marvel this awe-inspiring Hindu shrine, not only at the imposing statue that guards its entrance, but the panoramic views it provides of the iconic city.
Next you will be whisked away for 7 nights in the beautiful Sabah, on the island of Borneo, in the eastern part of Malaysia. Borneo is a fascinating destination for travellers who enjoy a close experience with nature. The island's many natural attractions are complemented by a fascinating local culture that has preserved centuries-old ways of living into the present day.
Attractions include:
Tunku Abdul Rahman Park
Located adjacent to the resort, across the South China Sea, the marine park is a cluster of five islands or ‘pulau’ in native Malay. The five islands are Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug and are characterised by shallow waters, bountiful corals and splendid white sandy beaches.
Kinabalu National Park
Making your way to Kinabalu National Park, (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding biological attributes) you are thrust into a jungle paradise of natural wonders, rugged landscapes and scenic beauty. From the Rafflesia, the largest flower in the world, to the famous Orangutans in their natural habitat, it only gets more breathtaking every step of the way. On your way there, be awed by a majestic sight from Pekan Nabalu, a great vantage point for a view of Kinabalu’s peak peeking out above the clouds. With the entry point to the park already above 1800m above sea level, the air feels cool, clean, and absolutely fresh.
City Centre
The city of Kota Kinabalu itself is small, bustling and welcoming. A cab ride into town costs around US$15. Consider taking some time away from the resort to pay a visit to the food market, open every night with stalls selling fried snacks, noodles and seafood , also a firm favourite with locals. Those with a sweet tooth are in for a treat as the deep-fried banana is particularly moorish and the local peanut butter centred sponge exceptional.
Underwater
For divers, the offshore islands near the southern town of Semporna are the jewel in Sabah’s crown. Sipadan offers world-class diving off coral walls, while its neighbour Mabul is known for its fabulous macro (small-scale) marine life. These two are simply the best known, and the area can keep divers and snorkellers enchanted for days.
