5-Night Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Siena
Arrival at the hotel in Siena and assignment of rooms.
Overnight stay with breakfast at the hotel.
Day 2: Siena
After breakfast departure and through the Chianti region you will reach Siena. We leave the Florence-Livorno motorway near San Miniato and drive into the Val d'Elsa Valley, where we encounter the medieval towns of Castelfiorentino and Certaldo, until we reach San Gimignano, built on a hill dominating the Val d'Elsa, in an area that was certainly already inhabited in Etruscan times and is an exceptional testimony to medieval urban planning in Tuscany.
We then meet Colle Val d'Elsa, an ancient and dynamic manufacturing centre, and Monteriggioni, a village in the rolling landscape of the Sienese hills and a rare example of well-preserved medieval military architecture. Along the way, we visit a wine cellar and taste local wines. In Siena, we recommend a visit to the Palazzo Pubblico and the Duomo. We recommend a walk along the most characteristic streets, Via di Città, Banchi di Sopra and Banchi di Sotto. Return to the hotel.
Overnight stay and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 3: Pisa
After breakfast departure for transfer to Liguria to the CHD hotel in La Spezia. En route, we recommend a stop in the city of Pisa: visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, marked by the Leaning Tower, and see the Duomo and Baptistry.
Overnight stay and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 4: Cinque Terre
Breakfast. Full day dedicated to visiting the Cinque Terre.
On arrival at La Spezia station, depart by train to Riomaggiore, where you will arrive in just 7 minutes, visit the village and then take the train to Manarola. The visit to the 'Cinque Terre' continues by train with stops in Vernazza and Monterosso. Here you will have the opportunity to taste the D.O.C. white wine of the "Cinque Terre" at a local wine shop.
Overnight stay and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 5: Portofino
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we recommend making the most of your day by visiting the Gulf of Tigullio, Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. Boat trip from Rapallo to Portofino included. We also recommend visiting the church of San Giorgio, and if possible (weather permitting) also the abbey of San Fruttuoso by boat. In the afternoon, return to Santa Margherita by boat and visit the church of Antiochia and Villa Durazzo Centurione. Typical dinner.
