As the heartland of the island, Ubud is ideal for both those who want a total escape from their daily life, and those who wish to uncover the ancient secrets of Balinese culture.

 

Undoubtedly, a must-see spot on any tourist's list is the Ubud Monkey Forest, where over 700 long-tailed macaques share their spiritual home with daily visitors. In addition to the lively residents, the forest boasts 186 different species of tree and several sacred temples.

 

Another Ubud highlight is the Tegallalang Rice Terrace, a prime photo-stop that showcases some of the most beautiful terraced fields in all of Southeast Asia.

Gili Trawangan

With its 15 km², Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three islands and will provide you with an exotic epic in the heart of Indonesian culture. In its centre, a small hill will allow you to admire a breathtaking view of Gili Meno and Gili Air, with Lombok and Mount Rinjani as a backdrop.

 

Whether you are snorkeling with turtles, swimming in crystal clear water, scuba diving - the Gili Islands are famous for their beautiful coral reefs and diverse marine life - you will certainly fall in love with this nugget off Lombok. Finally, the sunsets in the Gili Islands are ranked among the most beautiful of all. To admire them in full every night, there are tons of little bars, beach hotels, cafes along the "sunset side". End your days at the night market, where the fresh, inexpensive food is really tasty.

Uluwatu

Uluwatu exudes the peace and serenity that makes Bali so famous, unspoiled by the thriving tourism that has encompassed much of the island. It is famous for its amazing sea temple and spectacular surfing spots.
