Husafell is an expansive natural playground, and the perfect base to explore the nearby Langjokull Glacier, the highlands and Snaefellsjokull National Park. Take part in a wide range of activities including glacier excursions, super jeep tours, snowmobiling and more.

We've even included car hire so you can explore the surroundings at your own pace! Reykjavik city is under 2 hours away by car, and the Lava Cave and Blue Lagoon are also within driving distance. We recommend a visit to the Blue Lagoon on the way to or from the airport! 

Hotel Husafell 4* —

Hotel Husafell is a luxurious, beautifully-designed hotel located in a strategic position close to many unique natural wonders. With 48 well-appointed rooms, two restaurants and four dining halls, guests will be well catered to with a stay here! 

What's more, the hotel is home to its very own geothermal baths, with two pools, two hot tubs and a waterslide. This hotel is entirely sustainable, with 100% of its energy produced on site. One of National Geographic's Unique Lodges of the World, this hotel is nestled in the countryside which makes it an ideal spot to watch the Northern Lights!

The hotel's geothermal baths were first built in 1965, and have undergone huge renovations since then. There are two pools, two hot tubs and a waterslide, all featuring wonderfully hot waters. Benefit from the healing properties of the waters and take part in this long-held Icelandic tradition! You can also try out floating therapy, renowned for its positive benefits on mental and physical health. Swimsuits and towels can be rented for a small fee.

Into the Glacier Adventure

This opportunity of a lifetime takes you through the deep, man-made tunnels that run through the spectacular Langjokull, Iceland's second largest glacier. You'll journey on specially-made vehicles that are adapted to explore the glacier environment. Drive to the top of the ice cap and soak up spectacular views along the way, all while learning about the glacier from a knowledgeable guide. 

Included:
Please notice that departure for this tour is from Husafell or Klaki at Langjokull Glacier’s edge. You will need your own car to drive to the glacier where the tour starts. This is a 15:00 departure direct from Hotel Husafell.
  1. Tour in a specially modified glacier vehicle on Langjokull glacier. Departure from either Húsafell or Klaki base camp
  2. Entrance and English speaking guidance in the ice cave and tunnels
  3. English speaking driver/ guide/audio guidance
  4. Free WiFi in glacier vehicles
  5. If needed snowsuits and overshoes are provided during check-in
  6. Crampons / Spikes for ice walk inside tunnels. Provided upon entering the tunnels

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.
The minimum age for driving a hire car in Iceland is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year.

The lead name on the booking will be confirmed as the named driver.  The named driver must present a credit card in their name when collecting the car (credit cards in other names will not be accepted).

The named driver must also present a full valid driving licence on the collection of the vehicle and in some cases, a credit card or cash deposit will be required.

Please ensure that you check your car hire documents carefully once received as this will advise if there are any taxes/charges to be paid locally as well as potential mileage restrictions.
