Lefkada, the green island of the Ionian island of poets is the only island linked by bridge to mainland Greece.  The foot of the hill leads to a sheltered, pebble-filled bay, Mikros Gialos.

Mikros Gialos is perhaps one of the most picturesque and unspoilt of these "strings of pearls" - a traditional Lefkadan seaside village at the head of the bay complete with a gem of a beach. Striking old houses are characteristic here, connected by a myriad of narrow alleyways and paths leading to the local shops and tavernas serving appetising traditional Greek cuisine.

In the region of Mikros Gialos are restaurants with fresh fish from the fishing boats of the village, Mini Market, and sea craft to explore the bay. The area is ideal for a carefree stay away from the busy city life, combining crystal clear and calm sea with the overall harmony of nature.

The apartments themselves combine this spectacular setting with simple comfortable accommodation. Newly built, there is a selection of studios or one-bedroom apartments. The latter have double or twin beds with a shower room, living room with a sofa bed leading onto the balcony.

There is a good-sized swimming pool set on a raised terrace overlooking the bay. Sun loungers and plenty of dappled shade make it the perfect spot for that essential relaxing siesta. A stroll down the lane shaded by olive trees and bougainvillea leads to the waterfront with its tavernas and well stocked mini-market.

Car hire: Car hire is included. Your hired car will be waiting for you at the airport with driving instructions. Drop-off is at the airport on your return.

Meet & Greet —

If you are driving to the airport in the UK, and book our package including flights, you may wish to add our 'Meet and Greet' service. Take the hassle out of airport parking and have an official representative take your car on arrival, and it will be waiting for you on your return.

This can be added at the next stage of booking process where available.

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.

The minimum age for driving a hire car in Greece is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year. You must present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card or cash deposit.

Please ensure that you check your car hire documents carefully once received as this will advise if there are any taxes/charges to be paid locally as well as potential mileage restrictions.

Your Contract —

The flight inclusive offer(s) shown on this page are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Voyage Privé is acting as agent for Ionian Island Holidays with ATOL number 5853 and your contract is with that company.

Travel Documents —

Once the booking process is complete, you will receive an automatic confirmation email from Voyage Prive detailing your chosen travel arrangements.

Your official ATOL receipt and booking confirmation issued by the Tour Operator will follow within 5 days.

We will send all documents out as early as possible (subject to full payment being received) but you should receive all your documentation at least 10 days prior to departure. 

Generally, travel documents are sent via email however, in some cases they will be sent by post.
If you have booked Meet & Greet, you will receive a separate voucher for this via email.

Please do make sure that you add Voyage Privé to your ‘Safe Senders’ list and check your ‘Junk mail’ regularly for your travel documents.
