Your Destination —
Just north of your destination is the scenic Paleokastria where you will find Moni Theotokou, a monastery founded in the 13th century (although the present building dates from the 18th century) that is the epitome of Greek Orthodox splendor. After marvelling at the exquisite icons you can travel further inland to the quaint Doukades and relax in its historic square and atmospheric taverns.

The on-site restaurants serve both international and local Greek cuisine. Snacks and refreshing drinks can be ordered at the stone-built bars while packed lunches can be ordered for those who wish to spend a day exploring the island around them.
The King Alkinoos Restaurant will provide you with a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner that you will eat while gazing out across the sapphire bay. The main bar, Ariti, opens from 10:30 - midnight and will provide you with Local Draught Beer, House wine, Soft Drinks, Juices, Coffee, Tea and Ouzo - a local speciality.
If you desire a change of menu the hotel has two more restaurants that you can enjoy for an extra fee. The Thalassa is an 'à la carte' fish restaurant on the beach where you can enjoy freshly caught fish, lobster and other specialities. El Greco will transport you back in time with its design, while the view will transport you into utter bliss.
The hotel's second bar, Poseidon, boasts a full bar on the beach so you can order your drink and then walk straight out onto the beach and the Mediterranean sun.
Your Time —
You can venture further afield and discover the other marvellous, Blue-flag awarded beaches nearby and explore delightful little villages with a variety of restaurants and bars while relaxing in front of beautiful sunsets. Or you can hire a boat and traverse to the paradise beaches that can only be reached by boat. For the more adventurously minded a canoe can be hired.
Just 1km is the picturesque Liapades village, which lies on the slopes of Kourkouli Mountain, and spreads right up to the North Valley, an area famous for its breathtaking scenery and crystal clear sea - the perfect place to discover the wealth of life underneath the Mediterranean Sea with a licensed PADI diving school.
Thrill seekers visit the nearby Aqualand which more than 36 waterslides and 15 adventure pools, offering an unforgettable experience of fun and joy.
