Alonissos —
Alonissos Island is the third member of the Northern Sporades islands, after Skiathos and Skopelos. Famous for its wild natural beauty and crystal clear waters, the lush greenery of this Greek paradise makes it difficult to believe that a tremendous earthquake struck Chora, the island's capital, in 1965.
Enjoy leisurely day trips exploring the pretty villages of Votsi, Roussoum Gialos, Steni Vala, and Patitiri, home to the island's picturesque port, or spend a few days island-hopping in the archipelago. For a slower pace, stunning beaches line the coast where soft waves lap at sandy shores lined with verdant pine trees. The island is also home to a National Marine Park, where sleek seals play though the turquoise waters.
