Our Offer —
Fly to Finnish Lapland and stay at Harriniva Wilderness Lodge and enjoy the informal family hospitality of one of Lapland's oldest wilderness hotels by the Muonionjoki river marking the border with Sweden.
Harriniva is also home to the largest husky breeding kennels in Europe, and during your stay you will get the opportunity to mush your own team of huskies; snowmobile across a frozen lake and learn about the life and ways of a reindeer herder.
This Northern Lights break enhances your chances of seeing the Aurora as we have included a Northern Lights search on every evening of your stay.
Your Destination —
Harriniva, on the banks of the Muonionjoki is altogether something special and unique in Lapland with many of the activities are right on your doorstep, be it husky safari, snowmobiling, driving a reindeer sleigh; tobogganing; ice fishing and much more. Everything here is owned by the Pittakainen family: the hotel itself, husky breeding kennels; snowmobiles and all services provide by longstanding local staff.
Your Itinerary —
A direct flight from London Gatwick transports you to Enontekio Airport in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Your guide will then take you by private coach to Harriniva, a privately owned wilderness lodge belonging to the Pietikainen family. On arrival collect your protective thermal outdoor clothing.
The afternoon is at your leisure to familiarise yourself with the hotel and its surrounding you will have free use of cross country skis today to explore the winter landscape. Dinner will be served at the restaurant before you head out on your first Northern Lights search by snowshoe, during the evening you will stop around a campfire where hot drinks will be served.
Day 2 – WILDERNESS COOKING & NORTHERN LIGHTS BY HUSKY
This morning try your hand at icefishing before you learn some wilderness skills. Prepare and cook your lunch over an open fire before returning to the lodge for an afternoon sauna (optional) Dinner will be served at the lodge. Tonight you head out in search of the Northern Lights this time being pulled by an eager team of huskies.
Today you will visit a local Reindeer Herder and his Reindeer. You will learn all about his life as a Reindeer Herder and he will show you how to throw the Lappish Lasso (Suopunki). This evening start up your engines and search for the Aurora by Snowmobile. You will drive approximately 20km and en route stop at the top of a nearby fell to enjoy some warm drinks and get closer to the nights sky.
Day 4 – LAPLAND - UK
Breakfast at leisure and the morning is free to grab a last minute toboggan or walk into the local town, even 'cross the border' to Sweden before a buffet lunch and a transfer to Enontekio Airport for your flight home.

Your Hotel —
This offer is based on full board stay and a Standard Room.
The glow from the windows lights up the pine that the Lodge and its giant Aurora Kota are built from, and illuminates the ice sculptures scattered around its entrance.
The hotel's rooms are all clad in local pine, simply furnished with handicraft fabrics, have private WC/Shower and envelop you in their cosiness.
The lodge has a cosy bar serving soft drinks, snacks, coffee/tea throughout the day and where in the evening you will often find some form of local entertainment. There are 3 dining rooms, one with an open fireplace. The key to this informal friendly lodge is the Pietikainen family who pride themselves on providing exceptional standards of service and there is always someone on hand to look after you.
