Your included excursions —
Snowmobile safari
Embark on a snowmobile adventure where you'll learn the basics of driving a snowmobile along frozen rivers and through snow-covered forests.
You'll be able to admire the magnificent panorama of the valley from the top of the hills, and enjoy a hot drink when you stop for a break.
Northern Lights camp
This excursion will take you to the Northern Lights camp, located away from the lights of the city, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the polar sky.
Once there, find the Northern Lights Cinema, built inside a huge snow igloo, which shows a film and impressive photos of the Northern Lights. You'll also have plenty of time to go for a walk, enjoy an invigorating ride in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile and sit down by the fire to admire the polar sky. With a bit of luck, the sky will be clear and you'll be able to see the moon and stars, and maybe even the Northern Lights.
Your optional excursions —
Husky safari (2.5 hrs)
This safari offers you a unique experience on an expedition into the wilderness with huskies.
Back at the kennels, you can enjoy a hot berry juice around the fire while chatting to the musher about these extraordinary polar animals.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Departure: 9.15 am
Frequency: Morning: Every day
Afternoon: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday
Includes: Winter clothing, transfers, visit to the kennels, 1h15 husky safari (10km), 2 people per carriage, children in the sleigh, hot drinks, English-speaking guide.
Reindeer safari to Santa's village
Lapland is famous for Father Christmas and his reindeer, so what could be better than a reindeer safari to Santa's village?
Get comfortable on a reindeer-drawn sleigh, and set off on snowy tracks through the forest to Santa's village. In the village, you'll have plenty of time to meet Santa in his office, send postcards from Santa's main post office and browse the souvenir and craft shops. You'll be given a special reindeer driving licence and a diploma for crossing the Arctic Circle.
Excursion to the Ranua nature reserve
At Ranua nature reserve, you'll meet endangered Arctic animal species, including the polar bear, Arctic fox, snowy owl and musk ox, all of which are under serious threat from climate change.
You'll find out how these species are protected and how injured animals are cared for and then released back into the wild. Ranua Nature Reserve is a zoo that is also committed to protecting endangered animal species and encouraging local people to take part in protection programmes. You can then visit the souvenir and wine shops before the return journey to Rovaniemi.

Your destination —
Lapland
Lapland casts a powerful spell: the midnight sun, the aurora borealis (Northern Lights) and roaming reindeer are part of its allure – as is Santa Claus himself, who ‘officially’ resides here – along with the awesome latitudes. At Nuorgam, the northernmost point, you have passed Iceland and nearly all of Canada and Alaska.
Spanning 30% of Finland’s land area, Lapland is home to just 3% of its population. Its vast wilderness is ripe for exploring on foot, skis or sled. The sense of space, pure air and big skies are what's most memorable here, more so than the towns.
Lapland’s far north is known as Sápmi, home of the Sámi, whose main communities are around Inari, Utsjoki and Hetta. Rovaniemi, on the Arctic Circle, is the most popular gateway to the north.
