Depending on their selected duration, our guests will enjoy one of the three following itineraries during their stay.

4-Night Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kuusamo
Upon arrival in Kuusamo, you will be transferred to your lodge in the heart of nature. Dinner will be served at the hotel's restaurant and guests will enjoy an overnight stay in their cottage. If guests arrive earlier in the evening they can explore the surrounding forest.

Day 2: Snowmobile Safari
Delve into the wintry wilderness of Lapland with your snowmobile safari and admire the landscape from the back of your snowmobile as you drive through the surrounding forests. ou can choose to had to the hotel's in-house electric sauna afterwards.

Day 3: Visit a Kota (Lappish Tent)
Spend the day with the lodge's owners in a traditional Lappish tent. This tee-pee style hut hails from the nomadic days of the Sami people. You will cook a delicious local lunch on the central fire and learn about the local lifestyle. Afterwards, head to the smoke sauna for a session then try and spy the Northern Lights in the evening.

Day 4: Local Reindeer Farm, Husky Ride & Lappish Dinner
Drive to a local reindeer farm where you will be taught about Lapland's long history with Reindeers.  Driving a reindeer through the wintery forest is a breathtaking experience. On this safari, you have a chance to enjoy pure nature and be amazed at how reindeer go through the wilderness. Before the safari, your guide will give you a driving lesson and tell you how to handle the reindeer. 
Return to the farm for lunch before continuing to a Husky farm.  A guide will teach you how to steer the Huskies before you are taken on a thrilling ride through the snow. The 10 km trail will take you through the forest and over lakes and is easy to drive (at least if you listen carefully the driving instructions!).
Return to your lodge or a traditional Lappish meal.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.

7-Night Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kuusamo

Explore the surrounding area with a guided tour on skis.

Day 3: Visit a Kota (Lappish Tent)

Day 5: Ice Fishing
Try your luck at ice fishing on one of the many vast, frozen lakes. This is also an excellent way to contemplate the beautiful scenery around you. Your guide will show you how to prepare and cook the fish if you do catch anything. Return to your lodge at lunch and spend the rest of the day as you please.
Day 6: Optional Snowshoe excursion & Russian Feast
Today you can do you please or opt for the excursion detail below.

Day 7: Snowmobile Safari
Today you will embark on a snowmobile safari to Kuntivaara where spectacular scenery awaits.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.

Isokenkaisten Klubi Lodge —

You will be staying in a Standard Room throughout your tour with Full Board Dining (breakfast, lunch and evening meal served in the main restaurant - excludes drinks).

This family-run lodge is a traditional gem which is surrounded by the Lappish wilderness. Throughout your stay, you will be accommodated in the Wilderness Hotel Kortteeri or in one of the comfortable log cabins. Guests will have access to a restaurant which specialises in home-cooked Finnish meals as well as a Seven Star Smoke Sauna - a staple of Finnish culture!

Snowshoe Tour at Oulanka National Park
Embark on a snow-shoeing tour through some of the most stunning scenery in Kuusamo. The old mill, Kitka river canyon, frozen rapids and waterfalls are just some of the sights you'll see. This tour includes a picnic stop at a wilderness cabin where you warm up by a roaring fire.
