From the swimming pools, I was literally amazed by the breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea: an exceptional panorama that makes you want to stay for hours contemplating the horizon.
As for the restaurants, I really enjoyed the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The choice, although more limited than in a large resort, is perfectly suited to the hotel's human scale. For even more gourmet delights, don't miss the three à la carte restaurants, including the Italian restaurant with its superb sea view.

Bayahibe —
Tucked along the sun-kissed southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, Bayahibe is a charming seaside village where turquoise waters, swaying palms, and a relaxed Caribbean rhythm set the tone. Once a small fishing community, it has grown into a laid-back resort destination that still retains its authentic soul, making it an ideal base for exploring some of the country’s most beautiful natural treasures.
Must-sees / Must-do:
- Bayahibe Beach: A picturesque curve of pale sand and calm, clear waters, perfect for swimming and unwinding beneath the palms.
- Saona Island: A must-do excursion to this protected paradise within Cotubanamá National Park, famed for its shallow natural pools and postcard-perfect beaches.
- Catalina Island: One of the Dominican Republic’s best snorkelling and diving spots, with vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life.
- Underwater Shipwrecks: Discover fascinating dive sites just offshore, ideal for both beginners and experienced divers.
- Village Strolls: Wander Bayahibe’s small harbour and colourful streets, where fishing boats bob gently and local life unfolds at an easy pace.
Culinary culture:
Bayahibe’s cuisine celebrates the sea. Expect freshly grilled fish, lobster, and shrimp served with rice, plantains, and coconut-infused sauces. Try pescado con coco or enjoy a casual beachside lunch with a cold Presidente beer as the waves lap nearby.
Dive deeper:
Bayahibe is widely regarded as one of the Dominican Republic’s top diving hubs, thanks to its calm waters, coral gardens, and protected marine areas. Beyond the sea, explore nearby sugarcane fields and small rural communities, or enjoy a sunset catamaran cruise along the coast. Evenings are gentle and unhurried, with soft music, warm breezes, and starlit skies.
Good to know:
Bayahibe is around one hour from Punta Cana International Airport. The climate is warm year-round, and the sheltered coastline keeps sea conditions pleasantly calm. The local currency is the Dominican peso, though US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas.
