Larnaca —
A busy resort on Cyprus’ southern coast, Larnaca offers plenty of fun and thrills for travellers looking for a sun-soaked beach stay. The resort is best known for Finikoudes beach, a beautiful sandy beach in the centre of the city fringed with palm trees, but there are plenty of other sights to explore in the city, as well a host of watersports and activities to choose from.
If you’re ready to explore further than Finikoudes beach, Mackenzie beach is another popular spot, where you can sip a cocktail at one of the waterfront bars and admire the views of the Mediterranean. In the centre of the resort, historical sights include the 9th century Church of Saint Lazarus, and the wreck of the M. S. Zenobia - where thrillseekers can even go diving among the wreckage!
Fans of ancient history shouldn’t miss the chance to explore Kition Archaeological Site, which dates back to the 13th century B.C, and as the sun sets, retreat to a traditional Cypriot restaurant to try fresh seafood, and perhaps dance the night away at one of the town’s bars or nightclubs.
