Day 1: UK - San José (Airport - San José 45 minutes)
Welcome to Costa Rica!
Meet our English speaking representative at the airport. Then transfer to your hotel located in downtown San José, the capital city. Receive your documentation of travel and accommodation at your hotel.
1-Night in San José.
Day 2: San José - Tortuguero (4h00 en route and 1h30 in boat)
Meet at your reception for a transfer to the Tortuguero pier. Arrival in the city of Guápiles and breakfast in a local restaurant, before taking a boat to Tortuguero National Park, travelling on the canals, in the heart of the rainforest.
Check into the lodge, and enjoy lunch on site. Ride a boat to the small Caribbean village of Tortuguero to visit it, before heading to the lodge. Afternoon free to enjoy the facilities of the lodge and to walk around. Between July and October, you can join a night excursion to observe the nesting of green turtles, baulas or loras.
Enjoy Dinner and Overnight accommodation at the lodge.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before heading out on a boat trip to visit the canals of Tortuguero Park: it is a different and very fun way to discover this imposing panorama. (The entrance to the national park is not included: $ 15.00 per person). Later, you will be able to visit the surroundings of the Lodge accompanied by a local guide, allowing you to discover this very humid tropical forest, its fauna and its flora. You will then journey back to the Lodge for lunch.
You have the rest of the day free to enjoy the lodge's facilities and on-site activities.

Day 4: Tortuguero - Arenal (1h30 in boat et 4h00 en route)
Following breakfast at the lodge, return to Guápiles by boat, and then have lunch in a local restaurant.
Continuation to the north of the country to reach La Fortuna, a town at the foot of the Arenal volcano.
Check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Breakfast at the lodge. Free day to enjoy the lodge or embark on an optional excursion in the region.
At the end of the day, you will head to the thermal baths of Baldi: relax and dine in this family complex offering 25 pools of warm or temperate mineralized water, a large natural sauna and spa for jacuzzi-type use, three minibars, two gourmet restaurants, 3.5 kilometers of paths and 3.4 acres of quaint tropical gardens. Enjoy overnight accommodation at your hotel.

Day 6: Arenal - Rincón de la Vieja (3h30 de route)
Breakfast at the lodge. Continue to Guanacaste province where you'll notice a cowboy atmosphere and a radical change of scenery. The road will end on a track that joins the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park.
You will then have a free afternoon to enjoy the lodge or make an optional excursion in the area.

- Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park - walks from 2h to 4h walk depending on the level of walking to discover the dry tropical forest, its gigantic trees and mud pots (attention: park closed Mondays)

Day 8: Rincón de la Vieja - Monteverde (4h00 en route)
After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a free morning of leisure. Later in the day, you will head to the Monteverde Biological Reserve, in the Tilaran Range, located between the Central Valley and Guanacaste! This is one of the largest rainforest nature reserves in the country! It protects amphibians unique in the world, alongside 400 species of birds including the unique Quetzal resplendent, many species of butterfly and 2500 varieties of plants! You will then return to your hotel to check-in.

Visa Waiver Programme —
If you are travelling to the USA or choose a flight option with a US layover, the US authorities have introduced a requirement for passengers travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP), to register for Electronic Travel Authority. Passengers who have not applied for and received travel authorisation via ESTA prior to travel may be denied boarding, experience delayed processing, or be denied admission at the US port of entry. However, neither possession of a visa, nor meeting the basic requirements for travelling visa-free on the VWP, guarantees admission to the United States. As with most countries, the final determination of admissibility is made by immigration officials at the port of entry. Please remember that issue of ESTA does not guarantee admissibility to the United States - it is only part of the travel approval process. All queries in relation to this requirement should be addressed via the US Embassy Consular department.
Please remember that if you are refused boarding or denied admission at the US port of entry, you will still be subject to our cancellation charges in accordance with the terms of our contract with you.
