Days 1 to 3
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN SAN JOSÉ
- Welcome to Costa Rica.
- Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport, a local representative will greet you and assist you in reaching your hotel in San José.
- Settle in, relax in the comfort of your room, and take this opportunity to rest before your adventure begins.

DAY 2: SAN JOSÉ → TORTUGUERO
- Early departure. At the agreed time, meet at the hotel reception for a semi-shared transfer to the beautiful Tortuguero region in the northern Caribbean. Tortuguero is one of Costa Rica's most popular ecotourism destinations; it was created in 1970 to protect endangered sea turtles. The canals, rivers and lagoons of Tortuguero National Park are a veritable laboratory for studying the rainforest, freshwater and marine biology. Tortuguero National Park is a unique place, a paradise for research and ecotourism.
- On the way, you will stop in the town of Guápiles for a Costa Rican breakfast at a local restaurant, then continue to the pier where you will board the boat to Tortuguero. This boat transfer will be a wonderful introduction to the heart of the rainforest. As you navigate the canals, you will admire the natural landscapes with their different shades of green.
- Upon arrival at the lodge, check in, settle into your room and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, meet your guide to visit the charming village of Tortuguero. This town has about 500 inhabitants, no cars and is located on a relatively narrow strip of land between the beach and a canal.
- The visit to the village of Tortuguero includes round-trip boat transfer and the services of a local guide. Discover Caribbean culture, its people and their way of life up close as you stroll through this colourful town. The order of activities in Tortuguero may vary depending on hotel operations.

DAY 3: TORTUGUERO
- Breakfast included at the lodge. At the agreed time, join the guide for a nature walk along the lodge's private trails and discover the flora and fauna that inhabit this magical place.
- In the afternoon, after lunch, enjoy nature in all its splendour as you travel by boat through the canals of Tortuguero National Park and take your best photos in the jungle. Discover its network of canals, lagoons and dense tropical forests on an early morning boat trip, guided by an expert naturalist guide. Tortuguero is home to abundant wildlife, including 57 species of amphibians, 111 species of reptiles and 60 species of mammals. Return to the lodge.
- The Tortuguero canal excursion includes round-trip boat transfers, the services of a local tour guide and national park entrance fees.

Days 4 to 6
DAY 4: TORTUGUERO → ARENAL
- Breakfast included at the hostel. After breakfast, departure and preparation for the rest of the trip. Shared transfer by boat and land from Tortuguero to the restaurant in Guápiles, where you will enjoy a traditional lunch.
- Then continue your journey by shuttle bus to your next destination: La Fortuna de San Carlos, home to the magnificent Arenal Volcano. Before December 2010, Arenal Volcano was one of the ten most active volcanoes in the world, offering a truly majestic spectacle as it spewed molten rock and ash from its summit on a daily basis.
- Today, there are no more lava eruptions, but you can still see smoke and ash escaping from the top of the volcano.
- Upon arrival, settle into your hotel room and enjoy your free time to relax in the hotel facilities.

DAY 5: ARENAL
- Breakfast included at the hotel. Today, you will enjoy one of the most exciting experiences in the Arenal region: a sloth watching excursion.
- Delve into the lush rainforest of La Fortuna and embark on a guided adventure in search of one of Costa Rica's most beloved creatures, the sloth, in its natural habitat. Your certified naturalist guide will take you to known wildlife viewing areas, helping you identify two- and three-toed sloths. The tour offers a 100% sighting guarantee.
- In addition to sloths, the forest is teeming with other wildlife: keep your eyes peeled for toucans, monkeys, arrow frogs, hummingbirds, iguanas and much more. The slow-paced walk focuses on observation, education and discovering the magic of the quieter side of nature.

DAY 6: ARENAL → MONTEVERDE
- Breakfast included at the hotel and departure. At the agreed time, departure for Monteverde, crossing Lake Arenal by shuttle boat. This is one of the most popular options. You will first make a short transfer by land from their hotel to the Lake Arenal dam.
- They board a boat for a 30-minute crossing of Lake Arenal. On the other side, board a minibus to complete the hour-and-a-half journey to Monteverde.
- This place is a true paradise for nature lovers, with a wonderful diversity of wildlife and vegetation. It differs from other tropical forests in Costa Rica in that it is constantly shrouded in a cloud-like mist, which has given the forest its name. Monteverde is a unique blend of natural beauty and tranquillity, combined with adventure and adrenaline-fuelled activities such as thrilling zip lines to fly over the trees, amazing suspension bridges, cultural and culinary experiences to discover Costa Rican traditions, night walks in the jungle to explore the forest's nocturnal secrets, and much more!

Days 7 to 10
DAY 7: MONTEVERDE
- Breakfast included at the hotel. Today, you will have the day free to enjoy Monteverde at your own pace until late afternoon, when you will take part in a night hike, a fascinating experience that will reveal the hidden life of the cloud forest after sunset.
- As the light fades, the forest transforms into a completely different world. Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you will explore the trails in search of nocturnal species such as frogs, snakes, tarantulas, armadillos and sleeping birds, while listening to the unique symphony of the night.
- Monteverde is a magical combination of natural beauty, tranquillity and adventure, from thrilling zip lines and picturesque suspension bridges to cultural encounters and this unforgettable night walk that brings you closer to the mysterious nightlife of the forest.
