Days 1-3
Day 1: Arrive in San José
Touch down in San José - Costa Rica's vibrant capital in the heart of the Central Valley with its lively markets, museums, and parks.
Find lush valleys, volcanoes and coffee plantations just outside the city as well as charming towns like Heredia, Alajuela, and Cartago.

Day 2: Sarapiqui
Head out to the village of Chilamate, on the banks of the Sarapiqui River, where cocoa, pineapples, bananas and palm hearts are grown.
Stop for some rafting in the warm Caribbean waters and visit the region's many private reserves.

Day 3: Arenal
Verdant tropical vegetation covers the slopes of the impressive Arenal volcano and a magnificent lake can be found at its base.

Days 4-5: Monteverde
Explore this fascinating place by day on footbridges suspended from the treetops amongst or on trails through ferns and moss;
The Monteverde, Santa Elena and Curi Cancha reserves and the Children's Eternal Forest are just some of the ways you can see the impressive cloud forest.
Once in the village of Monteverde, be sure to visit a butterfly farm and woodworking shop for a taste of rural life.

Days 6-9
Days 6, 7 & 8: Samara
With the backdrop of the glittering Pacific Ocean, Samara is a picturesque coastal town known for its pristine white sand beaches and calm, turquoise waters.
Sip cocktails and dine on a tempting array of food in the beachfront bars and restaurants, or simply let the world go by as you swim or sunbathe in paradise.

Day 9: Departure
- Return the vehicle to the Alajuela agency by 2 pm at the latest
