Before heading out to explore, be sure to dress in layers, as the city's weather is very unpredictable - even on the sunniest of the days, a chilly blanket of fog can roll through at any moment...
Make your holiday unforgettable and visit the iconic Pier 39 where you can watch the famous sea lions sun bathe. Walk or catch a ride up to Coit Tower and take in the panoramic views of San Francisco. Stop at the Ghiradelli Square for some chocolates (great souvenir idea). Take a ferry to Alcatraz Island and learn the history of this infamous prison that once held Al Capone and George 'Machine Gun' Kelly (we recommend booking your tickets in advance).
Other unmissable places include: the crooked Lombard Street, Haight & Ashbury with a stop at 710 Ashbury to see where the Grateful Dead band once lived.
