Walking: With over 600 miles of rights of way, you are spoilt for choice - coastal paths, wild heather-clad moorland, hidden valleys and rushing rivers. Imagine yourself walking back in history by exploring the country of Lorna Doone, and keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife such as red deer and Exmoor ponies.
Cycling: Exmoor has some of the most varied cycle trails in the country. Cyclists will enjoy the challenge of the steep climbs and heart stopping downhill's, set amid the most spectacular scenery.

Quirky, eccentric and characterful, Miller's At The Anchor is a wonderful bolthole in which to escape all the seriousness of modern life - entering here is something akin to falling down the rabbit hole!
Owned by the late antiques entrepreneur Martin Miller and his daughter Tanya, the place is, unsurprisingly, full to the rafters with antiques, art, books and knick knacks.
Guests will find a 14 cosy bedrooms, a cinema room and a great restaurant & bar, serving Martin Miller's own brand of gin. Some services are limited (namely the wifi and the restaurant hours), but the unique charm and welcoming nature of the place more than makes up for this.
The staff are very knowledgeable on the local area, so be sure to pick their brains on the best walks, pubs, and attractions.

Guests can expect hearty home cooked dishes at The Harbour View Restaurant, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. From a traditional Sunday roast enjoyed by the roaring fire, to a bottle of wine enjoyed with a movie in The Cinema Room, you're sure to find something to suit your tastebuds and your mood.
Full cream teas are also available on reservation - perfect after a long walk in the fresh air!
Please note: The on-site restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday only. Guests staying on Mondays/Tuesdays will take breakfast at the welcoming pub that's just next door.

Directions:
M5 to Bridgwater, or M3/A303 to Taunton, then follow the A39 to Porlock. At the bottom of Porlock Hill turn right (signposted to Porlock Weir).
There is plenty of free parking just outside the hotel. If you park in the public carpark please leave your car registration with the reception to avoid payment.
