With over 900 years as a seat of learning, most sightseers to the city come to see the buildings and quadrangles of the 39 colleges that comprise Oxford University.Those visiting in Spring can enjoy college boat races, or from April onwards there is cruising on the Thames and punting on the Cherwell.

Ashmolean Museum
The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology on Beaumont Street, Oxford, is the world's first university museum. Its first building was built in 1678–1683 to house the cabinet of curiosities Elias Ashmole gave Oxford University in 1677.
