Your Destination —
The New Forest is an area in the south of England, and includes the New Forest National Park. The region is best known for its beautiful purple heathlands, forest trails and wild ponies. In the southeast of the region, you can visit the National Motor Museum, which houses some unique F1 racing cars and vintage motorbikes. Exbury Gardens and the Steam Railway are also in the area, and is home to many exotic trees, colourful rhododendrons and beautiful azaleas. Owls, otters and wolves are among the residents of New Forest Wildlife Park, so make sure to look out for these when you visit!
The lush scenery here makes this part of the country particularly popular for outdoor activities, whether that be horse riding, paddle boarding or hiking. You can also take a trip to Beaulieu, a pretty village, and the privately-owned Beaulieu River (formerly known as the River Exe), which is broadly considered one of the most beautiful marinas on the south coast. This runs through the centre of the New Forest, and is peaceful enough to navigate by canoe!
