Kent —
The Garden of England is a green and pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of the bordering counties. Home to historic Canterbury, a cathedral city brimming with narrow medieval alleyways and ancient city walls, the pastel beach huts and famous oysters of Whitstable, and the lively county-town of Maidstone, Kent offers something for all the family.
Kent's Heritage Coast, 350 miles of sweeping chalky white cliffs and charming seaside towns, complete with pretty blue-flag beaches, was voted a Top Region by Lonely Planet in 2022. Hit the sand and shingle for windswept hair and rosy cheeks, or dive in for a swim or some SUP.
