Skeabost Country House is located on the Isle of Skye, on the southernmost tip of Loch Snizort in the north of the isle. It is well placed for a range of leisure activities, and makes for the perfect escape.

There’s plenty to see and do beyond the Hotel. Dunvegan Castle, a fortress stronghold in an idyllic lochside setting is surrounded by dramatic scenery. For whisky enthusiasts, the Talisker Distillery is the only distillery on the Misty Isle to see distillers at work, creating the Talisker single malt. For the more adventurous, Whitewave Skye’s outdoor centre offers kayaking, canoeing, climbing, walking, archery and windsurfing.

Skeabost Country House Hotel stands within large private grounds at the edge of Loch Snizort and based only five minutes away from Portree. The Hotel is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding Scottish Highlands and visiting the many local attractions.

Fine dining can be enjoyed in the wood-panelled restaurant, with a varied menu that features the finest of locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients and is complemented by an extensive wine list. For a more informal meal, choose any of the public areas which serve a variety of fresh local fare. To end your evening move over to the Lounge Bar and choose from the large selection of fine malt whiskies and cocktails while friendly staff tell you about things to do in the area.

Your Time —

Skeabost Country House is a superb leisure destination in its own right. The Hotel owns the fishing rights to the first eight miles of the River Snizort, a typical Highland spate river. The river challenges every angler and its ‘gillie’ – the Scot’s term for a fishing or hunting attendant – is on hand to help guests angle the perfect catch. Skeabost is also surrounded by a demanding 9-hole golf course.

The Billiard Room, formerly the chapel of the original country house, is another place to unwind with a drink after an exciting day of leisure
