The Shieldaig Lodge 4* is situated in the beautiful village of Shieldaig - a village in Wester Ross in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. Founded in 1800, the village attracted families to take up fishing for a living to help build up a stock of trained seamen who helped the Royal Navy during the Napoleanic wars.

As you explore the surrounding area, find whitewashed cottages and other buildings along the shore of the loch. You'll find some of the finest sunsets here in the evening when the sky is painted in warm reds, bursting yellows and vibrant oranges. And, the seaward side of the road throughout the village has been grassed over for the benefit of those simply wanting to enjoy the views. 

Shieldaig is the perfect place to experience the great Scottish highlands.

Shieldaig Lodge 4* —

The Shieldaig Lodge 4* is a beautiful and recently refurbished lodge set in a 26,000 acre estate. Surrounded by the scenery of the West Highlands nestled next to Shieldaig Bay, the hotel boasts old-world charm dating back to its 19th-century origins. The interior of the hotel consists of wooden furniture, cosy neutrals and opulent decor.

With over 250 skillfully selected award-winning whiskies, the Shieldaig Lodge 4* has at least one bottle from every post World War Two distillery in Scotland. Also, the hotel has a growing collection of over 111 craft and world-class gins including every Scottish gin. Opt to Blend Your Own Whiskey (£80 per person) and enjoy a selection of 12 whiskey samples along with specialist blending equipment. Your Time —

There is an abundance of things to do here including visiting Beinn Allign, Torridon Hills, Beinn Damh and Loch Shieldaig. Try out some authentic fishing which is local to the area and opt for a hike to explore the surrounding Highlands.

In your spare time, visit the beautiful coastline and opt for a guided kayaking or canoeing adventure. You'll be with a local guide who is knowledgeable about Wester Ross and are great wildlife experts too. The spot will be chosen based upon your experience, local tides and weather conditions so you don't have a thing to worry about. After exploring the waters here, opt for some deer stalking which is available from mid-August. Shieldaig Lodge 4* has its very own stalkers and ghillies to see visitors around the estate, therefore, you'll be in safe hands while witnessing the majestic wildlife here.

The named driver must also present a full valid driving licence on the collection of the vehicle and in some cases, a credit card or cash deposit will be required.
